GTA IV. I got extremely bored with the repetitive-ass missions. I tried going back to finish it a couple months ago, but then it happened again. Terrible, terrible game. I realize a lot of people don't think so
Nah I'm just kiddin'.

Assassins Creed - The controls on the PC version are horrific.
Genesis Rising - EVIL missions.

Metroid Prime 2. Every time I played it, something would come up and I'd have to stop playing it for a few days, and when I'd come back, I'd forget everything that had happened. Just never felt like doing it all again.

In the original Kingdom Herats I had kept dying during the fight with Heartsless Riku and I actually stopped playing for about 6 months before I came back and killed him on my first try.

I recently haven't played anything of much in the past month or so. Partly because I'm a little bored of TF2 and that my friends are all on vacation, making L4D2 no fun.

Steam says I've played 10 hours in the past 2 weeks. It should be SIX TIMES that amount.

Most recently, I stopped playing Modern Warfare 2. I had died for the umpteenth time, and it occurred to me;

"Why the fuck am I still playing this? It stopped being fun about four hours ago. Nobody is making any attempt to do anything besides buff their Kill/Death ratios, and this is a sabotage match. You know what would be way more fun than this right now? Bayonetta..."

It was.

Every 'game' I've tested out on Facebook.

When a game just plays itself and only lets you make a couple of decisions every four hours, it misses the whole point of what a game is supposed to be: interactive. Even with the heat Metal Gear Solid 4 gets, at least it's not two feature length movies in every cut-scene between gameplay.

Company of Heroes
Oblivion
Dragon Age: Origins
Mass Effect
Warcraft III
There's a lot more, but I'm too lazy to list them.

I can usually tell within the first hour whether or not I'm going to like a game, If I don't like it within the first or second hour I just set it aside and never pick it up again. The exception is DA:0, I put about 15 hours into it. I really really wanted to like that game, but I just couldn't stand the generic fantasy world and boring combat. It was marketed as 'dark fantasy', but it came nowhere close to that description.

Neverwinter Nights I AND II. Started it with the best of intentions, then got bored a bit, stopped playing and lost intrest. At least in the second one I'd gotten to Neverwinter, didn't even do that in the first one. :)

Ninja Gaiden II. Maybe it was too hard or maybe I refuse to take shit from ninjas with rocket launchers. That does not make for good game play. The game says - "Here, have all of these weapons that turn people in to bloody pulps, have all of these crappy magic powers, have all of these fun kick ass combos and a generally good combat system. Now, spend each fight being bounced around like a marathon runners ball bag by a dude with a ballistic rocket launcher"

That does not make for good game play.

Also, I gave up on Halo Wars pretty much. I only borrowed it from a flat mate out of sheer boredom but I ended up more bored than I had been previously. Same goes for Lego Batman but I do intend on trying that again under more favourable circumstances.

Happens a lot to me

examples:

Medieval 2 total war - I was actually doing very well in all of my campaigns, but for some reason I always get the urge to restart about halfway through and I haven't finished a single one to this day. Might finish my most recent one some time in the future.

Warhammer 40k Chaosgate - the same thing as with medieval 2. dunno why that keeps happening.

Fallout 3 - played through most of it, but I just got bored at some point.

Oblivion - never finshed the main story, I just went out and explored until I got bored.

Burnout Revenge - as with the others, I'm as good as finished, but I never bothered to complete it.

Metroid Prime 2 - at some point I didn't know what to do next and I just quit.

and others I can't remember...

Fallout 1,2 and Tactics as well as Jagged Alliance 2 I almost didn't finish as well and I basically had to force myself through.
It's the same thing every time. I restart about halfway through or even near the end and never bother to finish, dunno why.
Though I still intend to finish them all at some point.
