Shadows Die Twice worries me. I wonder if it will be what everyone hopes it will be, or if it will be something completely different from the Nioh or Souls-like everyone assumes it to be. Didn't the director say something to the effect of he wasn't gonna make another similar souls game anytime soon?

Yeah, they had to do something different. As great as the Souls games are, at some point you can't just keep doing the same formula over and over.

Because it's Miyazaki, I am counting on the new game to:

a) be challenging;
b) treat you like an adult; and
c) have high quality combat/art/themes/atmosphere/world design.

Yeah I hope they don't waste Miyazaki on just constantly making near identical game, at this point I'll just buy anything with his name on it, let him experiment. Worse that can happen is I'll dislike the game and will still buy the next one anyway XD

Whoever had a problem with your choice are insecure and had nothing better to do. Your game of the year can be whatever you want. I remember some asshole giving me shit on the IMDB forum, because I dared made Bayonetta 2 my GOTY before getting released. Dude got banned anyway for acting like a *****.

lol thanks. that's pretty much what i thought should have happened to the users who were hassling me last year.

This year Super Smash Bros Ultimate will more than likely be my GOTY. it just keeps looking better and better. not just character wise either, but the gameplay types and amount of customization and Music in it to. and there's STILL more characters and another mode they still have to announce yet.

Sakurai is fucking crazy with the amount of new shit he's putting into this New Smash game but my god i love him and the team for doing it.
