Morrowind and especially Oblivion...I remember a few very late-night gaming sessions of that.

I've also done a few long long sessions of Starcraft, Tomb Raider, Call of Duty 4 and 5, the Journeyman Project trilogy...

Geometry Wars. Oh my god, I could stare at that for hours, and once I got good enough to break the couple million mark, I was set for life.

That's one of the few games I can see myself playing for the rest of my life.

Until recently, jagged alliance 2 (1.13 mod). Right now, combat arms can take quite some time and coding stuff myself also takes 2 hours more then the 10 mins I planned for it.

Half Life 2 and the Episodes, over and over.

Oblivion and Morrowind, of course

KoTOR and KoTOR II, more times than I thought possible, especially with the tragic state of KoTOR II's final third.

All of the Total War games.

Left 4 Dead is looking like it's going to be the next one on the list

I cannot understand how anyone can 'play' Fallout 3 or GTAIV and get any enjoyment out of it.
Personally, I hate nearly all RPGs (except ChronoTrigger for some bizzare reason) and the last two GTAs because all of these games force you to do mindless, boring tasks in order to get to the good stuff.

For me, the best GTA was Vice City. Very little realism there, but it was fun at almost every point and kept throwing awesome new things at you (boats, planes and helicopters) for simply playing the game.

To misquote Yatzhee,

"Why would you want gritty realism when you can fly through the sky buck naked and then divebomb groin first onto the face of an old lady"

Why indeed.

Recently, it's been Fallout 3, and I've been replaying through The Witcher as well, although it's hard to call that a black hole because, while lengthy, it doesn't take forever to finish (about as much as the Knights of the Old Republic games, maybe a bit more). In the past, my biggest time sink was undoubtedly Diablo II... more time was wasted playing that online during my teenage years than any other game, period. I gave it up after several years because I found myself economically unsuccessful next to all the hackers around me, and my character builds were all disappointing despite the time I had put into them. It seemed too daunting to start all over again, so I stopped entirely. Can't say I regret it, really.

My vote goes to Rome: Total War. I remember starting up the computer on a Friday, and then it was Sunday Morning... I was aware that R:TW had been played in the meantime, but I didn't realise just how much I'd been playing it!

Okay, I did eat and sleep in between, but it did consume my weekend. :p

For a "modern" answer, LittleBigPlanet. It was another weekend, 1pm. I'd just had lunch and was killing time until 6pm when friends were coming over. Sure enough, the doorbell rang. I looked at my watch and thought "what the hell?"

Legend of Zelda, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater One, Oblivion, and Mass Effect. I think I played Pro Skater more though, I wasted 4 months of my life to that. I was so hooked to that game that I was practically starving myself cause I would forget to eat. Too bad it went downhill after 4. I can't stand skating games anymore I made myself sick of them.

If we count MMOs, EVE used to be my big one, but I'm getting tired of it. My current ones are Fallout 3, Sword of the Stars (Think Civilization-style turn based strategy with Homeworld-style real time space combat), and Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri.

Must...play...one more...turn!!!

Oblivion(I have well over 400 hours in my current three saves, probably 600 in total with all my failed characters), Fallout 3 and Saints Row are all at the top of my list. Fallout is my newest game, therefore having the shortest game time, but I still have 70-ish hours on it from christmas. Saints Row has about 90 hours, unincluding the time spent online.

I need a social life -_-.
