As for me, I obviously don't like Half Life, but I also hated Final Fantasy 7, Fallout 3 didn't really impress me and I prefer the 3D Castlevanias to the 2D ones.
Fallout 3 IS gaming blasphemy. Can't believe I paid good money for that rubbish.

Bethesda took one of the most lovingly created settings in RPG history and butchered it.

Calling that weak garbage a 'Fallout' title is roughly equivalent to associating the (terrible) Alien Vs Predator movies with the (excellent) Alien or Predator film franchises.

Modern Warfare 2 gets a lot of flak it shouldn't, primarily because it dropped dedicated servers.
Dropping dedicated servers means MW2 deserved serious abuse. Dedicated servers is what sets PC multiplayer gaming head and shoulders above the console experience (that and that lack of Xbox kids) and MW2's dismissal of the PC MP gaming market is a disturbing trend that looks likely to continue with the new AvP and many future cross-platform releases. Which is why those games won't be getting this gamer's money.

It's fine to enjoy shitty games and to dislike good games.

Only when you cannot look at the hobby objectively and confuse enjoy with good and dislike with shit, is when you lose cred.
You won't like my sister.

I like Halo and happen to think that Mirror's Edge is an excellent game.
I can play Halo and have fun, also I love Mirror's Edge.

I STILL don't see why everyone thinks Uncharted 2 is the singe greatest achievement of the year. I just can't get into it. With the exception of it's amazing graphics, Uncharted 2 is just another generic shooter with annoying climbing mechanics.

THERE..! I said it!
Super Bowl Sunday was the only time in 2010 I played Uncharted 2 for reasons other than being invited by someone elso, though I will say that it is quite fun in single player.

Nope. I have nothing but contempt for everything that exits the gaping arsehole that is Bethesda.

Payed for Oblivion and hated it, sold it to a friend after I realised there was only 5 voice actors.

Payed for Fallout 3 (I'm like a wife who goes back to the beatings dished out by her redneck husband) and though it lasted more than a few hours, I hate it because it fails to be a 'Fallout' title. The old fallout games were crafted with love and care. FO3 was made from cynicism and brown.

But i've learned my lesson, never again will Bethesda take my money.

I dont get Metal Gear Solid. PLayed a bit of MGS3, and own MGS2. I never got too far, it was too different from Splinter Cell (which i love, and reason i thought i might like MGS), and pretty boring actually.

Ive seen the reviews, heard the opinions, but i still dont agree that MGS is the best stealth game series. I have often seen my failure to "get" whats so awesome about MGS as my gratest failure as a gamer, and my greatest sin.

My sins:

First of all, I'm not a fan of Half-Life 2 or its expansions. It was slightly fun, and considering the sheer value of the Orange Box, I didn't regret buying it. I didn't regret trading it in for something else, either. I fail to see why it's considered to be so goddamn brilliant.

Second, I didn't find BioShock particularly stimulating. Don't get me wrong, I did find it to be very fun (if a bit too easy), and I would be lying if I said I wasn't damn near blown away by the "would you kindly" twist, but I found the experience to be fairly shallow. Enjoyable, yes, but not nearly as deep as most seem to think it is.

EDIT:

Third, I was not a fan of Okami. The game was beautiful by all means, but it wasn't particularly fun. At least, not the entire way through. I'd say for about the first third of the game, there is fun to be had, but by the end of that third, the game was stale, and the only reason I kept playing was because I'm a bit of a completionist.

I don't care for anything OP refers to as "the obvious ones"

also..

I like ME1 more than ME2, and Morrowind more than Oblivion.

OT: I started HL2 with the Orange Box and love it, can't wait for Episode 3; but I hate playing HL1 and the Freeman's Mind machinima is enough for me

I really, really hate fanboys. I personally love the shit out of Half-Life, but if someone dislikes it, it's their opinion. I won't call them an idiot or anything unless they say something actually offensive (i.e "[insert game name] IS SO SHIT, GOD EVERYTHING ABOUT IT SUCKS I WISH IT WAS NEVER RELEASED EVER BECAUSE IT'S SO PATHETIC, I WANT IT TO DIE!!"), in which case I'll just discontinue the conversation.

Liking Modern Warfare 2; I absolutely adored Call of Duty 4:Modern Warfare and Infinity Ward's previous Call of Duty titles but MW2 - it was just awful.

That's certainly no gaming sin, that's something to be praised in gaming discussion nowadays.

I also didn't like it, they made it so the story wasn't half as compelling as it could have been and the gameplay felt a bit off. I feel that FF9 made the levelling up/abilities system a lot easier.

You must hate most games if you don't like bad voice acting.

And FO3 was never going to be the same as Fallout 1 and 2 - it was released nearly 10 years later; trends change and genres die. It seems odd that you tried to treat a game in the same way as another despite the 2 being very different in playing style.

"FO3 was made from cynicism and brown."

1) How you came to the cynicism thing makes no sense
2) The first 2 games were just as brown

[small] And yes, I'm aware of the irony of defending a game I don't like.[/small]

I love FFVII so much I own a Cloud costume for those rare occasions where it's appropriate. I have played one of every pokemon pair. I can't really stand real-world-style war games, ie Call of Duty (entire series), although the moment you add a sci-fi element I will lap them up(I like the Halo series, enjoyed Legendary and Gears, thought Alien Trilogy on the PSX was excellent, etc). I was introduced to gaming by Mario, but owned a 2nd hand spectrum followed by a SEGA Master System. I never really took sides in the 90s console wars, I liked something from every camp. My favourite Mega Drive game for a long time was Cyborg Justice.

Oh, and I actually think Sonic Unleashed is by far the best 3D Sonic game, and that includes the Werehog stages (which I see as a return to some pretty tight platforming with some mediocre combat thrown in).

And I still haven't fulfilled my childhood dream of actually owning and completing (rather than playing at my brother's friend's house) Gargoyle's Quest on the Game Boy.

I'm 26 :p.

I consider your "obvious" choices utter piss. I am a hard to please gamer and i will stand to all gamers needing to be such. Game design is a several thousand years old art, and i expect people to not try to sell me shit with a ribbon.
