I'm not talking about GTA leading to a penchant for the old ultra-violence, I'm talking about small details, conversational tidbits, the way prolonged exposure to Monty Python will lead inevitably to exclaiming, "No one expects the Spanish Inquisition!" in a regular conversation.

My old roommate was a long-time pen-and-paper gamer and said, after blanking on the name of a person she knew quite well, "Omigod, I just totally rolled a 1."

The other day, after receiving some rather discouraging news, I had to actively restrain myself from responding, "Dwooooo..."

All the time. Me and my friends were playing football once, and someone scored, and someone shouted "Turn off your aimbot!" And we made many a CS related joke. We still do it today in other things. Other things crop up as well, along the lines of rolling 2D6 to do certain things, and my +1 phone of txting, etc. Ain't nothing wrong with a little slang and such entering the real world!

Whenever I'm in my engineering class, my classmates and I always say we're "pwning some noobs" which to us is perfectly constructing and dimenshioning a specific part or tool on our 3d CAD software.

All the time, regular jokes include random quotes from games (i.e. It's a secret to everyone...), random hacks from games (stop using autoclicker, and just random screams.

*Guy gets tackled during football*
Me: MONSTER KILL.

Nerdy, yes. Insanely fun, yes.

I calls it bleed through, and it happens to me in a different way. Not so much "gaming themed jokes" (though I do that too) as an unconcious mental shift from real life to the game world. This usually happens when I've been playing one game a lot lately, and also it helps if it's pretty late.

I'll be playing Half-Life a lot, and afterwards I'll be very aware of how first-person my vision is. I'll be out driving and find myself starting to "race". I'll find myself suddenly distrusting my supervisor because he said "Would you kindly?"

When I catch myself doing it, I usually can shut it off pretty well, but yeah, I get a lot of bleed through.

Probably the best I can think of was when I slipped on the hardwood floor in my house (I'm a klutz.) My sister burst out laughing, then informed me I rolled a 1 on my balance check.

I can remember dialouge from two of my friends

"I cast fire1 on you."
"Aha, but my shirt gives me Fire resistance!"
"Yes but it's fire resistant, not fire immune."
"Ah, yes, then I am undone"

Do I ever! D&D mostly. (Chef's Jacket: -5 Dexterity) Occasionally I'll say "Highscore!" to people though. And tell them not to attack the oracle. (Nethack anyone?)

Yep, gaming lines and quotes are often used here. Though, I've got one not mentioned.

Amongst my friends, it's a well known fact that if they want me to start driving faster, they start humming a theme from F-Zero.

"The cake is a lie" Has entered my life quickly and effectively. That and a whole bunch of others but I'm too lazy to think of examples.

Working in a grocery store, I always see people buying cake. I think to myself, "You poor fool, there is no cake."

Sad thing is, 4Chan rubs off on me more than games do.

LoL Wut?
Completely unrelated to the topic at hand, but on the other hand, it's actually pretty funny.
