I commonly say WTF in real life, and i yelled LEEROY JENKINS when going for a shot at a goal once. The 'keeper was so paralysed by laughter i scored an easy goal =P

Glitches are cool said:
Almost anything from Portal has spilt into regular dialog.
I have that same problem, if you could call it that way. I also say use Duke Nukem reference as well as the "Kaboom" from CoD4 when something is thrown and hits the ground. When I was playing CoD 2 I'd go to friends yelling "Comuniste!"(spelling?). CS shouts are very often spilt into regular dialog as well.

sometimes i say "you have done a great deal, on a small tiiime spaaaan" when someone does... well, a great deal on a small time span :S

i frequently say wtf, coz i find it less offensive.

me and some friends play/used to play uo, so we use a lot of jokes above the terms GM (grandmaster. you reach this title when you get 100% at one skill) and apprentice (your title when you have 50% at one skill)

surprisingly, i never used portal quotes irl.

I once referred to something as fake and then several synonyms for fake, culminating in 'a cake' in a poem I had to write for English class.

I don't really do this specifically in regards to gaming, but rather, books, movies, TV shows, news, well basically anything. Mostly, I tend to reference obscure Simpson's lines, signs etc in reference to daily activities. mostly they tend to go over people's heads, or they think I am strange, but occationally, someone gets it. Most recently someone got a, "five corner's mall" reference as we drove past the Pentagon. However, I was guest lecturing a spatial statistics class and managed to insert, "these points of data make a beautiful line" into the lecture in an appropriate manner. One student seemed to recognize the line and chuckled but most seemed to think it was just an odd choice of words.

- What's quite sad, is that my work phone (Palm Treo 650) won't use mp3s as ring tones so I loaded up the Youtube video for Leeroy Jenkins and used the Sound Recorder to record that to have as a text-message tone. And I normally hate WoW! o_O

Oh, and totally true on the 4chan comment. Longcat, Motivational Posters, Copypasta, Original Content on my /b/?, Chris Hansen etc.

What is 4chan? I'm in the states, if that has anything to do with it.
It's a forum that's fairly well known, if only because it's got one of the largest concentrations of Japanophiles anywhere that's not actually in Japan. Never been there myself, mostly because there are some things that can't be unseen.

Also not gaming, but geeky: I've been known to actually speak lolcats in conversation. I actually got my mom doing it too. I like lolcats translations of literature especially, like "The LOLsong of J. Alfred Prufrock."

I had a universe but I disturbded it.
I can has peach?
I'm wearin ur white flannel trousers walkin on ur beach.
The mermaids singing - I hears them.
I do not think they say "OH HAI!" to me."

My entire 1st period math class broke into a spontaneous rendition of "Still Alive," including a Capella accompaniment and human beatbox.

I don't know exactly how it came about, but, needless to say, we never spoke of it again.

I was playing football manager with a mate who just happens to play for a local team. He was none too pleased that his 'intelligence' stat was 2 out of 20.

I sometimes see real things and think man that has good graphics. or I imagine texture and 3d rendering of real objects.

Duke Nukem - couldn't walk past a mirror or refelctive glass without saying "Damn, I'm lookin' good". Got some people into playing DN. Got old a long time ago though.

Still do a D&D reference occasionally, when someone takes a pratfall or drops something, somethiuing like "And she TOTALLY blows the saving throw, taking 2D6 damage and rolling once on the random limb loss table!" Only really works with old D&D'ers or folks to whom I've had to explain it before.

I occasionally look around the real world and think how complex everything would be to render with polygons...

I calls it bleed through, and it happens to me in a different way. Not so much "gaming themed jokes" (though I do that too) as an unconcious mental shift from real life to the game world. This usually happens when I've been playing one game a lot lately, and also it helps if it's pretty late.

I'll be playing Half-Life a lot, and afterwards I'll be very aware of how first-person my vision is. I'll be out driving and find myself starting to "race". I'll find myself suddenly distrusting my supervisor because he said "Would you kindly?"

When I catch myself doing it, I usually can shut it off pretty well, but yeah, I get a lot of bleed through.

A bleed through. That's from a book or a movie though I can't recall which one....this is going to drive me crazy until I remember it.

O_O'

It wasn't from JTHM was it?...no I don't think it was...blargh.

I've been chatting to a lass at a bar or club, and slipped out a LOL instead of actually laughing - That ended all conversations with any female within a 50 mile radius.
Slipped out a 'Laff' once too.
After many years of CoD gaming, whilst drunk I've used the quick chat to answer questions.
Don't be ashamed though, release the inner geek!

A freind of mine threw a basketball that rebounded and headshoted himself, we all screamed BOOM HEADSHOT much to other people's terror. Lol cats speech is always funny and serves to confuse people. Injecting any sorrt of geeky speech into life always makes the day better. The confused faces of others is always the best.

Use of 'leet-speak' in real life. Nothing irritates me more than that. I dont care if its in-game, its meant for that, a way to shorten a word or phrase. In real life, use proper english, or my brain my evict my ears again.
