Good options would include

System Shock 2, odd numbered Devil May Cry games, Resident Evil 4, Knights of the Old Republic, Mass Effect 1 then 2 (import your Shepard for best results), Zelda Ocarina of Time and Twilight Princess, Marvel vs Capcom 2, Soulcalibur 2 (Gamecube version if possible), Portal 1&2, and Robot Unicorn Attack.

Dark cloud 2. One of the best PS2 games I have ever known. also hard as balls to find. I had found 5 cases to actual disk. So many stores had the case but didn't have the game.

Dark Cloud the first as well.

Maybe Extermination, Destroy All Humans!, Xenogears...

im actualy ashamed to see no-one else said kotor personally my favorite game (which i had very low expectation going into having never heard of it) and jade empire was also amazing shame they never released a sequel to such a promising series.

Ehhh, I'm not too clued up on the 'classics', but Devil May Cry 3 is definitely one of them.
Deus Ex - one of THE must-play games.
Rome: Total War.
Quake 3.
Max Payne.
Actually - fuck all the others.
Play Max Payne.

Shenmue- Excellent game. Truely a Classic

Sonic the Hedgehog- Cant believe no one said this

CastleVania Symphony of the Night- Really fun gae as well

Panzer Dragon- This game is a work of art. Truely a masterpiece

Final Fantasy Series- Love em

Phantasy Star Online- Dreamcast brought in a little thing called Online Gaming

Metroid Prime series

Sonic series- Yes I know I i did the original by itself but it deserves that

Super Mario Bros. 3- The game is just plain fun.
