The title says it all. As so often games have been making that foray into that pinnacle of media, that is films, we have seen more and more videos popping up that are great and well related to the wonderful world of gaming. Things such as Forge and film making tools ported with games or available for download, and mods designed for film making have all contributed in their own special way to this great art. So here, I intend for this thread to becaome a place to share your favourites. There are some hidden gems of videos among the internet, relating to gaming, and it is up to you, dear readers, to sniff them out. I'll begin with the following, that many of you may have seen before, and some of my own videos that were created based around the wonderful world of gaming:

This video was the winner of a short film competition run by the IFC, and is based around a mysterious artefact known as the 'Rod of Aaron'. It was created around Assassin's Creed and is one of my favourite short films of recent years (and yes, I did see the music video for Weapon of Choice...).

Many of you will have likely seen this brilliant video from the Purchase Brothers. Half Life: Escape from City 17 is a gripping first part of a series soon to be released, based on the escape of a small group of survivors from the eponymous City 17. As Combine and rebels wage war all around, this ragtag group must fight to get out of the city with their lives intact. Filmed on next to no budget, the make up and special effects used look absolutely stunning despite the lack of finance and limited resources. Well worth a look.

Kind of a self-promotion piece, this last one, but these videos were created using footage from Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts and subsequently spliced with music from the games, OCRemix.org, and several more well known artists. If you do look at these then constructive criticism is always welcome.
So there you have it. Some great films for you to look at, with two (my own personal favourites) listed right up top for all to see. Have a look, and post your thoughts, and post your own videos too. Let us know your favourite gaming videos, and spread the good word to the great people of The Escapist
