Fall-from-Grace from Planescape. No further elaboration necessary.
Other than "Why not Annah-of-the-Shadows?"

Bastilla definitely!!!
Gaaah! Bastila would be the first off the bridge. Such a stuck up spoilt cow, so full of herself for no real good reason, takes about five minutes to skip merrily off to the Dark Side, jumps in front of my lightsaber when I was halfway through giving Malak a lesson in arsekicking. She's worse than Aribeth. Most Annoying Pretend Woman Ever.

Oh Samus Aran, under all that armor she wants a pasty little geek like me, I just know it...one day, she will be mine. I swear it! I...eh...
Oh. You mean like, IN-GAME love interests for the main character?...Right.

Well, there's Annah and Fall-From-Grace in Planescape, as mentioned.

There's Alyx Vance of course, but she's as clear a mention as Master Chief is in "Big buff generic space marine guy" threads. It's like, the first character to jump to everyone's minds.

GLaDOS, and her psycho lesbian stalker crush on Chell, deserves a good mention.

Speaking of KOTOR(2), if we were on a "Most Irritating Female Sidekick" thread, I could be snotty and say Mical.

Well lets see female sidekicks... I uhhh I must be missing lots of good titles to find a good one...

Peach in Super Mario RPG? She is handy as hell in bosses.

Dear lord, I must expand my horizonts.

Mituru Kirijo Persona 3. The second most powerful character in the game next to myself. Also she is not nearly as annoying a Yukari.

This probably doesn't count but how about Kerrigan from Starcraft? (thats before she became the queen of blades and discovered killing could be as addicting as cocaine)

I must agree with many posted already. Samus Aran is a definite one for me. Even though she's a protagonist, and not a sidekick, she's just so awesome that she wins anyways.

Chalk another point up for Ashley Williams. Do you think the President would mind if she's home a week late. So many things that you can do on a sea-doo :p

But I definitely have to go with the women of Time Splitters: Future Perfect, especially Jo Beth Casey. Have you seen her outfit?!?!

In closing, I provide visual proof.

Don't know if she counts as a side-kick but Blaze Fielding from Streets of Rage gets my vote. Anyone who can beat the snot out of guys twice her size in a mini-skirt and heels is alright by me.

Bastilla, Ashley and Alyx are also very obvious choices. Liara T'soni is alright in a naive sort of way. Plus her biotic powers when fully amped up kick a lot of arse.

Ah, but that husky english accent. That snug jedi catsuit. That prim, proper exterior, under which you know hides a wild, fun-loving party animal. And she can kick seven different types of arse with a lightsaber.
What English accent's that then? Certainly not one I've ever heard, and I live here.

Also, she's probably allergic to fun.

I'm not sure if I want to date her, be her, or just borrow her clothes. I love a good pair of combat boots.

EDIT: Many years ago, I actually had an outfit rather like that. Can't carry it off now. I also used to date a girl rather like that. Can't carry that off now either.

Can't have this thread without the heroine from Dark Cloud 2, who kicked so much more ass than the hero.

Chalk more points up for Samus Aran and Silk Fox. I'd throw off Dawn Star in a heartbeat.

Speaking of which... I love me some Amoretta from GrimGrimoire and Rosalin from Disgaea 2.

Lady in Devil may Cry 3. She really wasn't a sidekick at first, but she does help you at the end credits, and give you a bad-ass Rocket-launcher. And, she actually wore almost enough clothes. Now, DMC4, not so much.

Sheena, from Tales of Symphonia (as has been said). Even though she had a huge and semi-exposed... bust... she still kicked much ass. And could summon. Which is cool.

Rachel, from Ninja Gaiden Sigma. Specifically, only Sigma. Underdressed, yes, however, in Sigma, since you can control her for certain levels, she kicks that much more ass. Without those stages, she falls to the "Throw off of bridge" level.

Angie Thompson in Trauma Center. She's a nurse and she has a uniform, and therefore will never of fall prey to the "Under-dressed" stigma, and she slaps some sense into Derek early in the game.

oh, Rena Lanford from Star Ocean I'd keep, and Yuna from FFX. But, I'd dump Riku's "working girl" butt any day. Oh, and I'd Keep Bastila Shan from KoTOR

You say psycho lesbian stalker crush like it's a bad thing.

Happens to the best of us. I helped my son move this past weekend and it damn near killed me. Just ten years or so ago I unloaded a Digital mini-computer by myself that weighed about 600 pounds - it's so heavy that when I pulled it out to the end of the truck bed, its weight bent my tailgate. Now I'm climbing stairs with one end of a (maybe) 150 pound couch and thinking "I die now." (Think Manual from Fawlty Towers.)

And sorry Bodb, but Alyx is the only female sidekick and/or love interest I can remember in a game except for that chick in Daikatana.

I don't know about the rest of you but I've always preferred Tifa over Aerith. I really wasn't all that sad when Sephiroth turned her into a kabob.
