I have owned a number of Cyborg/Saitek products over the years and can't complain about any. I guess Cyborg is it's own entity nowadays but whatever the new mouse looks sweet. [Saitek was bought by Madcatz a few years ago which included the cyborg line]

Plus the customer support is really nice. They sent me a bad mouse twice and then sent me the upgraded (price was 2x higher) mouse no extra charge. I called and asked about the error and they said they felt bad and hope this makes me happy.

Spoiler: I use a Razer Imperator, which I enjoy. It is a corded mouse, yes, but it's still a very nice gaming mouse.

Corded mouses are the only way to go with gaming mouses, nobody likes changing batteries in the middle of a fire fight. I'm a huge fan of the razor mouses, using the Diamondback atm, think it's discontinued now tho, but any razor mouse is a solid investment. Now their keyboards on the other hand, can be a bit hit and miss, I got a Lycosa love the keyboard, but they can be dodgy, this is my second one, its only stuffed up once, but its completely fine now. The first one keys would stick and just not work, so if you go with one, make sure you keep the receipt.

I can also recommend logitechs G9 mouse I love it . It's very ergonomically designed and i also got it brand new for £20 : P which was awsome

The logitech products are all pretty solid, though from personal experience, i can reccommend the Z Merc Stealth gaming Keyboard, and a Microsoft Sidewinder x5 or x8

It's a good mouse. I love the sensitivity buttons for FPS. Definitely helps with quick switching from psychotically fast twitch for close quarters to slow and steady for those long range sniper shots.

Had the occasion of playing for a few days using MadCatz Cyborg's R.A.T.7

Felt weird for about 25 minutes considering my regular mouse is about as hold as me (COMPAQ ball mouse) but then I fell in love.

This thing scares me.

Apparently this is what hardcore Starcraft players use. Those buttons are actually the hotkeys you will be using in most MMOs and RTS games. It's so awesome that it has its own internal memory, and you can actually program keystrokes into it.
What's even scariest is that my friend says you can get it for like $30 right now.

Nice guide, quite useful for gaming, although I'm a bit disappointed in the relative lack of ergonomic designs - among the affordable ones it's mostly just split keyboards.

I think there's a general lack of ergonomic mechanical keyboard designs anyway. The market for mechanical keyboards is small, as is the market for ergonomic designs. Together, it makes it a very niche market.

I'm not entirely sure which keyswitch to go for, given Black is best for gaming but not great for typing, and this keyboard is clearly designed for typing but would also be of use for gaming.

A Steelseries Ikari and a Unicomp Customizer 101. Logitech Keyboards are overpriced garbage. If you want a true top end keyboard, get one with mechanical key switches.

What about the G15 and the MX 518, which is $41 and damn good for the price?

I've never had a problem with Logitech brands, both price-wise and quality-wise. The ones that were too expensive, I didn't buy, so I haven't made an opinion.

Currently have a Logitech MX518 mouse. It is awesome, and comfortable. Best mouse ever.

My keyboard is the Saitek Cyborg, and I am much less impressed than I was with my mouse. It worked fine for like a month, but now it has a few "less-than-responsive" keys.

I've been planning to buy a Razer Lycosa or a Razer Marauder keybord to replace my Cyborg.

Also, I may buy that n52te just to try it out in games like Starcraft 2. That could really help my macro, methinks.

Their mice are good, but the "gaming keyboards" are just very basic keyboards with some macroing software and an LCD attached. They are in no way, shape, or form worth the money.
