What do you use? What do you recommend?

I'm considering buying a Gaming Mouse, but in my research I've looked closesly at gaming keyboards, and, dare I say it, a Gaming Pad/mini keyboard thing.

Which is worth the money, what will I get the most use out of? I know the mouse is porbably the obvious answer, but wouldn't the keyboard be important? OR would it just be better to tuck the keyboard away and pull out the gamepad to save on wirless keyboard batteries.

Seriously, I have no idea what to do.

Gaming mice can mean the difference between life and death .... a gaming keyboard ...is a massive waste of money if your too lazy to use the 200 dollar mouse to goto the volume control panel.

Whatever, just wash your hands.
I do fine with just a simple 5 button mouse and a 15 dollar ms keyboard, both are wired

I have a simple Mac keyboard and a 10 dollar logitech mini-mouse and it's just fine for me.
Seems to work great but... just avoid Mac's one-buttoned mouses.
Those things have cost me countless deaths in Killing Floor >.>

Having a more responsive mouse (DPI if you are looking at any specs, between 2000 and 3000 is all you will really need) is probably the biggest factor if you play any games that require twitch reflexes.

Anti-ghosting keyboards are also really nice to have but I would recommend a mouse above one.

I have a Razer Mamba mouse and a Logitech G15 keyboard. They keyboard isn't incredible, any other one (non-gaming) would be fine but the Mamba is probably the best wireless mouse you can get anywhere

Depends what you're doing. For WoW then a keyboard, for FPS's then a mouse. Think about what you use more in your games and what is the more important tool.

Gaming keyboards are wastes, and I've never really cared about crazy gaming mice.
Just a nice left, right, back, forward, and mouse wheel will do me fine.

A keyboard is a keyboard, spending a shitton of money on one is to show off, my keyboard is old as hell and has never failed, my current mouse's lazer spazzes out and has me doing 360's non stop in fps's and the middle mouse button doesn't work, so I personally am voting for mouse.

"Gaming" anything is overpriced intentionally to make more money. Any mouse worth 20 bucks can provide all you'd really need. That said, I do employ a Razer Naga mouse because I like the number pad on the side of the mouse. It's useful. But that's it. All the other buzz words about dpi are just horseshit.

Personally I have both a "gaming" keyboard and mouse and if I had to choose to keep one I would undoubtedly choose the mouse. At first I thought the idea of these things was pretty silly until I got the mouse and things got so much easier in mmo's and fps games. The keyboard on the other hand is pretty meh and its not exactly a game changer. So really a standard keyboard will be more than enough to play.

I use a gaming mouse for FPS,s and it,s one of the best things EVER!
I have the nasty tendency to accidentally press the right button (alt fire in allot of games) with a regular mouse it,s also allot better in the hand.
Sadly the mouse,s internal battery is losing capacity lately.

it depends on what you're playing if you're doing MMO's or an RTS then you would want a keyboard because you will use all the macros for anything else get a mouse. Personally i would reccomend i Cyborg R.A.T10 mouse wise and a Logitech G19 for a keyboard.
