Most people don't realize... a nice trackball is where it's at. I've used a Kensington Trackball for over 10 years... I'd never go back to a regular mouse.

Get a Kensington Expert Mouse.

It's about $100... but you'll never need another mouse for years.. and you won't regret it.

At the moment i´m using the logitech mx518! it´s a very good gaming mouse which satisfy all my gaming needs. Might not be the sharpest one with only the 1.6k dpi but it does the job!
Same here. I've got the MX518 and the DeathAdder V2. The DeathAdder seems better for snap shooting and it's smoother (physically and on screen), but the MX518 is damn comfortable I have to say. It feels like it's been made for my hand.
Nice one! excatly the same mouse setup i have, althought i don´t use the deathadder atm. It´s just up on the shelf gathering dust!

I am from Australia and from the picture that I saw of the G9 was the side. Anyway the G9 might be just what I wanted, even though I want the R.A.T 9.
If you really want a R.A.T. 9 (and believe me, after seeing it I WANT ONE) then get one.

I did that when I got a logitec mx9 (or whatever it was) about a year ago, I wanted the razer mouse but didn't think it was worth the extra 20 bucks. I WAS WRONG. I kicked myself 5 months later when the little USB thing broke, and again when THE REPLACEMENT ALSO BROKE >:[

Don't settle for what will do, get what you really want or you will kick yourself. No amount of flash and flare will make up for the genuine article.
Well thanks for the advice man, you should really be a spokesman or something.

A trackball eh? I never thought of using one for gaming, but that must take a lot of time to get used to.

I don't think I could make the switch after becoming so comfortable with a mouse.

Yeah, I've got two places to live at the moment, so I get a fair bit of use out of each. About half a year ago I was trying to choose between the two and now I finally have both :)

The absolute most underrated accessory for gaming though is a decent mousepad. I'm pretty sure half the reason I like the DeathAdder so much is because it has a Goliathus under it. When I first started using it I actually had to kick my new habit of overshooting with the mouse since it slides so damn well.

This looks sick, but it would take a while for me to get used to it. But I shall look into it, seems cool.

Umm Fist or Claw? I'm a fist and I like the X8 but I know they aren't for everyone (big arse mouse). A mouse is a very personal thing, borrow as many as you can and get one that is comfortable over anything else.

So many people saying "Get this" and "get that".

What do you need the mouse for? FPS/RTS games or MMO's?

If you want a mouse for FPS/RTS then you need something with quick response time and high sensitivity. If you want for MMO get Naga.

What you are looking for in FPS/RTS is a mouse with a high dpi and 1000hz for mouse response. Don't worry for the 1000hz, every gaming mouse is set on this parameter, so no worry. The question now is dpi, pretty much the higher the better. If you have to choose between Razer DeathAdder and Razer Imperator get Imperator, it has 2000 more dpi (higher sensitivity) and also as a bonus higher acceleration.

If you want something for a MMO get yourself Razer Naga, pretty much the dominant MMO mouse.

Also, a hint, if you are getting a gaming mouse challange yourself on higher sensitivity than you are used to. Make those money well spent.

Razer Death Adder at 59.99$ - http://store.razerzone.com/store/razerusa/en_US/pd/productID.224620300/categoryId.35208800

Razer Imperator at 79.99$- http://store.razerzone.com/store/razerusa/en_US/pd/productID.171793100/categoryId.35208800

Razer Naga at 79.99$ - http://store.razerzone.com/store/razerusa/en_US/pd/productID.169418900/categoryId.35208800

Am I the only avid gamer who uses a basic wireless mouse+keyboard setup? I think if you're paying more than 30 bucks for the combination, you're just throwing money away. There may be some hidden advantage of having some extra awkward buttons on the sides...though I have my doubts.

Should I ready the flame shields?

Not really, many people don't understand gaming gear. The extra buttons on the mouse isn't exactly what most people are paying for, for example I am using Razer Abyssus, the mouse doesn't have any extra buttons. However the mouse is working at 3500 dpi, while normal mouses are at 800 dpi, meaning that my mouse is nearly 4x faster than the normal one. This helps a lot, you also recieve a 1000hz response time, or 1ms, way faster than a normal mouse.

However those stuff are only useful for multiplayer, if you don't play multi, then you are throwing money away ( although a layman can still benefit from mechanical keyboard ).

I am in need for a new gaming mouse, I would like to know a good brand or type of mouse to get. I have seen the R.A.T 9 mouse, but I have no idea where to get retail. My price range is $100-200 ( I want a very good mouse that will last me) any of you guys/lady's know of any?
I've got pretty high standards for my gaming mouse. Logitech G9 has served exceptionally well. I guess G9x, which they're selling nowadays might be even better.

Don't go wireless. "Wireless gaming mouse" is a thing that does not exist. That used to be a bit of joke I had with a friend back in the day, until they actually started marketing something with the title "wireless gaming mouse"... A proper gaming mouse has a wire. Period.

What he said, stay away from wireless as if it's the devil, the tech is not there yet. Although I doubt you will find a wireless gaming mouse (is anyone even trying to sell these?).

Check out Razer. They've got quite a selection at a very decent price.

I'd recommend them at least
I would avoid Razer, there products tend to be hit and miss, but the Deathadder isn't half bad.
No kidding, the copperhead is worse than my generic $69 logitech mouse I have on my upstairs computer, lol...

Sorry guys, I'll have to jump in Razer's defense. Best gaming gear I've ever had.
