Mum used to play Sonic on my Genesis when I was little so she could help me through the tough sections when I got frustrated.

Sometimes I wish she's played more recent games so I could have help with them.

Mothers and videogames? This concept is unworkable in my mind (if you met my mother you'd understand).

I did notice, but my mother's stance on videogaming means that whenever I look at your post the words soon turn into pure, infinite void. Sorry about that.

My dad not so much unless pc soiltare counts as a video game.
My mum on the other hand played space invaders as a kid and she was good at pacman. But now she's just like most other mums I know, who prefer to question the exsistence of games, rather than play them.

My Mom is the one who got my siblings and I into gaming actually. After my Dad bought her an NES, my siblings and I would sit with her and watch her play the Original Mario Bros and the Legend of Zelda. I was about 5 when my brother and I finally managed to pick up the rectangular controllers and try our hands at it. (To this day, I still play Luigi in co-op mode.)

Unfortunately, when my Mom started working she didn't have the time to play the same type of games tht my siblings and I play, so she plays browser-based puzzle games like Bejeweled.

My mother is addicted to all three Animal Crossings. Plus a lot of flash games on Facebook.

While my mom doesn't play video games. My friend's mom plays them a lot, she beat Resident Evil 4 three times apparently.

That's OK, your loss not mine :)
I love games, and am playing right now, shame that you judge us by your own mum's standards!
My baby judges you, so there ;)
@KillerMidget, btw!

I think these so called mothers are nothing but urban legend.
Ooooh, I've never been an urban legend before! ;) I am 43, with 3 kids 18 years, 15 years and 25 weeks! I often list my 360 as a thing I couldn't live without.
I like many genres and play GOW and Halo with my son.
Now......................... Do I get the cookie???????
You play gears of war and hence are a badass gaming mum. Have a cookie.

Ahh mum's and gaming, well mostly it's my dad who does it. But then again the utter devastation that she caused on the crash mode of burnout 2 is a force to be reckoned with.
If she could my mum would probably play a lot more games, the first point'n'click adventure games were my mum's (Discworld mofo's and 7th Guest). It was my dad who got me into more action games, it was all about the narrative with my mother.
So yeah, cookie please.

My mom loves Rock Band, Star Wars Battlefront 1 & 2, and the Lego games. She's casual, but will play almost anything if I can talk them into it.

Oh, and one of my friends online is a 40-year old gaming mom, who plays a lot of serious stuff.

ive heard rumors that my mom have once played a game of solitaire back in the 90s, but my little brothers dads wife (my half step mom?) is an actual gamer, mostly racing games and some fps's, her favorites are need for speed and cod.

on my last visit home, his birthday, she beated me in need for speed on the xbox, but i then humiliated her in cod : waw on the pc.
