So, what incident or mishap has kept you from playing any of your favorite games? Personally, I brought my 360 version of Dead Space 2 to a friend's house, as he didn't have it. Thanks to leaving the Xbox on the floor, it is now adorned with a a large circular scratch on the back of the 1st disk (you 360 owners will know what I'm talking about).

Well, my PS2's disc slot thing broke (in that, it got tossed around and would open all of 1mm then close). It fixed itself though.

My well-meaning husband, thinking he was cleaning up, put some of my favorite game disks in a box and put in storage without labeling the box. I go to the storage unit every so often thinking I'm just going to knuckle down and find them, but when I'm confronted with that wall of identical cardboard boxes, the games I still have get 200x better.

Both of my PS2 controllers are broken (one might have had some contact with coca cola, but the other one broke out of his own free will. bastard) and my old PS2's fan is so loud, it could wake the dead.
Means I can't play any of my PS2 games, including Silent Hill 2 and Metal Gear Solid 3. :(

I might one day get around to buying a new controller and "case-modding" my PS2.
Cutting a whole in the side of the case and installing a 120mm fan (or bigger) instead of the tiny standard fan has been done before and should fix the noise problem.
Might install another hardware "mod", but the required chips are surprisingly hard to come by these days...

Maybe my next gaming PC will be good enough for PS2 emulation.... would make things a lot easier.

I don't need to buy a 360 to know they're terrible..

Basically every time i've bought a game on disc from EA, the disk cracks in the centre. Every. Last. One.

Thankfully most EA games are a bit shit anyway.

I scratched my Final Fantasy XIII disc after moving my Xbox by hitting the power button too hard after being killed by a Neochu for the 70,000th time.
Got it buffed out the next day, but still. It was a prevention.

I was lan partying call of duty 4 at a friends house 2 years ago and my 360 was on a coffee table and his brother didn't feel like walking around it so he tried to jump over the cord (I wasn't looking at him to stop him mind you) and he tripped on it and it yanked my 360 from the table onto tile floor and his fat self landed on it and crushed it and my disc crushed my 360 and disc. I was mad as hell after that and never went there ever again I just hold the lans at my place now.
