to be honest i have absolutely no clue in terms of choosing parts, i have an understanding on how to put a pc together but not how to pick parts.Kasurami said:Well, do you know what processor you're getting first off? No point starting with a motherboard with no idea what processor you're going to use with it.
Wrong!!! All sandy bridge cpus are socket 1155 so please do not buy a socket 1366 mobo!!!coolicus said:You can't go wrong with getting an i5 2500k which will overclock beautifully is around £100 cheaper than an i7 and in gaming yields identical if not slightly better results. If you get the 2500k you will need a socket 1366 motherboard probably in the $150 dollar range for you.
I myself am building a computer - you can see my thread and take a look at the specs of my machine.
Also a good bit of information to give us is if you need peripherals like mouse/keyboard/screen/operating system? If you have some or all of them already then that will make your money go further on your hardware.
