Well, a little while ago I figured my ASUS G60VX had an extra HD-port that was unused and I set myself to the task of upgrading my computer with an SSD!

Took me about a day to complete all the work, from installation to reinstalling windows and all that stuff. Added in 64GB of SS memory that terrifically boost the startup speed from 1:40 to 39 secs!! Also makes all of the programs running off of it pretty much instant on, like photoshop and illustrator, their boot up time is about a second now. I'm looking into upgrading the processor to a T9900, from a P8350, which should make a mind-blowing difference, but I'll have to save for a while to get that.

What are you proud of in your RIG? Have you customized any of it yet? Why or why not? Add some pics into the mix.

I have not customized my rig yet, because I didn't understand a damn word you just said.

Also because it's a PoS Dell laptop, so there's not much that I could do anyways.

Well, besides the hyper-cold temps I manage to get with air cooling only (and very low decibels), at the moment I'm most proud of my "work in progress" case mod.

As of right now, I've rigged up an array of LEDs in such a way that they light up specific parts of my hardware. However, the intensity of the light from each LED array is based on the total power load of the device it's lighting. So, if I'm accessing one of my hard drives, the light gets much brighter there.

When running something like Crysis, it turns into a disco in there.

I plan next to start modding and painting the outer case. No idea what I really want to do with it, but seeing as I've had this case a while (and plan to use it again upon next upgrade) I really want to do something complicated and cool.

My case.

Meet the CoolerMaster Cosmos. The case I will use until the day I die.

The parts may change. Hell, the entire PC will probably be rotated out as time goes one, but a new case I will never need.

Just popped in a i7 2600k and a new MSI mobo. Finally getting full usage out of my 2 gtx 460s. Would like a SSD, which I think is what you meant with SS memory, but they're too damn pricey and not that useful for my gaming needs. Not dropping ~200 for 5 seconds off a loading screen.

I've got me an i7 950, 6gb of RAM, a GTX 295, 5 fans and a couple of 1TB HDD's. All contained in my sexy Antec 900II case. Haven't really done any customising, I've been pretty good with this setup.

here's my rig, built it my self from the case up. The thing I would say I'm most proud of is it's cooling. did a lot of research into aerodynamics and air flow theory. Got a end result of 35 to 45 degrees Celsius at the cpu in a room temp of 25 degrees under moderate load and its quiet too.

specs:
The cpu is a AMD phenom 2, 550 black.
Motherboard - gigabyte ma 785 gt. I love these motherboards they are so robust.
Got 2X sapphire 5770 1gb vid cards and 4 gb of super talent ram - DDR3-1333
Got two Samsung spinpoint 1TB F3's, Hands down gotta be my favorite brand for hdd's. I wont buy anything thing else, their performance is so good it borders on the ridiculous.
All powered by a cooler master silent pro M700.

And I'd like to made a special mention about my BenQ dvd burner, I got it because it was cheap I keep it because it's the best damn dvd burner I've ever had. My friends even bring disks that are too scratched for their computers to read for me to copy and burn them a new disk. The drive is a real trooper reading some really messed up disks with ease. I love the little bastard :)

I hope you've told Windows to put it's swap file on the mechanical HDD, and done the same for Photoshop's scratch file. To maximise the lifespan of your new SSD you want to minimise writes to it.

I've customized pretty much all of mine!

Coolermaster Stacker 830, nVidia Edition. Old school, but I like it!
AMD Phenom II 1055T @ 3.71Ghz
Noctua NH-U12P SE2 cooler
GTX 470, 1280mb
1x Samsung 1.5tb HDD
1x WD Velociraptor 300Gb
Corsair TX750W PSU
And lots and lots of fans. 4 Noctua NF-P12 120mm fans (two on the heatsink). 2 Thermaltake 120mm fans on the front and one unknown 120mm fan feeding air over my hard drives.

And it's all running on a £40 Asus motherboard.......I really must upgrade that, and the RAM, at some point!

I'm stuck on a laptop until I move out and get a decent job (I'm 15).

But I ain't complaining. I've still got about 30 years worth of PC gaming that I've missed and that can run easily on this shitbox.

Well as long as TF2 stays around I'll be quite happy, my laptop runs it quite well.

I also have a DSi and 360 to keep me busy.

Was going to start a thread asking what laptop i should buy, but wasnt sure if they were frowned upon. Anyway, maybe you could help me, i want a laptop that does most things...

E.G;

Microsoft office.

Watch Movies.

Play games (I never played Online games because i'm using a Desktop from 1999. So, if i got a new laptop, it would be able to run Online games, right?

General internt useage, (Facebook, Youtube, MSN, Forums)

Soo i figured, The Samsung SF310 Would be a decent choice. Not way expensive, and looks pretty good. Or a sony E series laptop... Opinions?

Woah didn't know about that... that's some news there actually. Could you elaborate a little please? I have Windows pretty much figured out on the maintenance side, but not really on the performance side.

Pretty impressive. I like the fan excess.
