What are some the things you're ashamed of doing or ashamed of not doing in gaming?

Mine is having never played a single Half-Life game. *prepares for an inferno*

Dont worry, I havent really either. I dont even like Gordan.

OT: Its something I make sure I never do, but going into a battle with half a clip of ammo.

Yes, I actually want to play it though but I've just never gotten around to it.

Neither have I, I'm pretty sure I'm missing out, but I just can't be bothered playing them.

Actually, there are a lot of games I haven't played. I've never played a Portal game for one, the only Final Fantasy game I've played was Final Fantasy Tactics on the Gameboy Advanced, never played a Metal Gear Solid game, never played a Castlevania game either...

I could go on and on, but yeah, heaps of games that people consider great I haven't even looked at, I'll probably get around to playing them all eventually, but still.

Thinking the story of Halo 1-3 is actually pretty good. I mean, not Valve-Good, but not, I don't know, Crackdown-Bad either.

Thinking that Gordon Freeman sucks as a character, and is no different from any other mute protagonist you can think of.

Having never beaten a Mario, Zelda, or Metroid game.

Not hating post COD4 entries in the Call of Duty series. In fact, they're pretty good. Even the ridiculous stories.

Not giving a flying shit about the damn Companion Cube. It's just a cube, people.

That's all I got right now.

I have never played Half-Life, I only tell people I do to look cool.
I have never played Mass Effect, I only tell people I do to look cool.
I play most of my games on Medium (sometimes Easy) difficulty, but I'd never admit it in person. That's not cool.
I own a Wii, I only tell people I own a PS3 to look cool.
I'd never pay more than $20 for a game, unless it's cool.
I once had a chance to buy BG&E for $10, I did not. At the time it was not cool

I wear the same armor for way too long. I'll equip some armor that's good for, say, level five, and I won't change it until I'm level 15 because I spend all of my gold/other assorted in-game currency on weapons and rings/amulets.

My sin is that I tend to forget to save and play through a game until something kills me. Have to restart from the last save which was back in the very beginning. 3 hours lost... DX My mom yells at me for doing this...

Well, I tried playing Half-Life 2 but couldn't really get into it. I didn't like Metal Gear Solid (I can't remember which one I tried). I've never played Portal, and the only Final Fantasy game I've ever played was FFX-2 and I didn't even finish it.
I play C.O.D. games for the single player campaign only, I never, ever go online with any of them. And finally, I really didn't care fore the Nazi Zombie part of W.A.W.

I'd like someone to tell me how the story of Halo 1-3 was bad.

Also, It's not really a sin but I have a bad habit of baby-walking almost every FPS I play. When I was playing Doom 3 I would CONSTANTLY save and reload to get through every encounter at least without more than a hit and I massively hoarded my Plasma Gun/Rocket Launcher/Chaingun/BFG/Grenade ammunition.

This, and if I pick up additional ammo then I always try to make it so my final clip is full at least, if not previous clips too.

I also like Kane And Lynch: Dead Men and go as far as to ranking it high on my list of favourite games. Meanwhile, I really don't like Gears Of War, God Of War and Halo series.

Another sin I do a lot is buy games but never complete them, assuming I get around to playing them. I buy a lot of games on Steam.

I haven't either. I have The Orange Box, but my friend can't find the first disc from when I tried to play it on his computer.

I am quite the opposite. I reload after every shot. Hell, I reload even if I don't shoot if the game allows it.

Well, that's easy. All you have to do is say something like "It's just some douche in a suit fighting aliens!"

Never mind the fact that you could describe the Half Life series the exact same way.

At least Halo has some fucking diverse environments.[/bitter muttering]
