Hey everyone, it's been a while since I have been on the forums, but now I am back. In my game design class we, (Team Power Surge, my small dev team)made a survey to study the consumers of the gaming market. I would gladly appreciate some feedback. It's short, only 10 questions. Link is below to our survey. Thank you, and feel free to discus anything in the forum while you are at it. Keep it clean.

EDIT: The "What kind of gamer are you..." is how you see YOURSELF as a gamer, if you were to self assess yourself, what would you see. Thanks for all the help.

Done, I didn't like the what kind of gamer question though. I would not, and am not a 'hardcore' gamer. How do you quantify something like how much of a gamer you are. Is it by hours played, or number of games owned or what. Because I play maybe less than 10 hours a week, that hardly seems hardcore to me. Yet I own hundreds of games, so I am hardly a beginner right.

I personally would call myself a video game enthusiast.

Thanks for your input. The question you are asking about is more about, how do you see yourself as a gamer. We put an "Other" catagory for people to explain anymore about themselves if they feel the other choices don't pertain to them. Thanks again for the input. As any critisism is helpful. :)

Filled out and ready to go. It also reminded me of my first gaming memory. The first game I played was Super Mario World I think.

I have fond memories of Super Mario World, mostly because my best friend's mom, and my mom would sit there and play it more than us. Thanks for the help man! :)

You might want to define what it is to be a 'hardcore' gamer, and 'casual' gamer. Is it someone who plays X hours a week, dependent on what difficulty mode we pick, or what type of games we play?

How important do we think videogames are? Compared to? Important to us, important to the world, important to society? Important compared to film, novels, art?

First game I played was Discworld. My dad gave it to me because it was a point and click adventure. Ahh...good times.

To Clarify, the "What type of gamer you are..." question is how you see yourself as a gamer, and the importance one, is important to you. Thanks for all the feedback, ya'll are all helping tremendously!

yeah the whole casual/hardcore gamer question threw me, i'm definitely more than a casual gamer but i doubt i can be considered hardcore, so i put other and explained it as i see it.

Thank you, that is why we put the other catagory, so people who don't see themselves as the specific choices, can describe themselves. Thanks again for the imput.

You're on a forum for videogame discussion. Trust me, you're a hardcore gamer.
bah bah, I know, I just hate that word, carries way too many bad stigmas, and people throw the word around to mean anything. I read somewhere that hardcore gamers are the ones who play 30+ hours a week, and 'ultra gamers' are ones who play 60+ hours a week. Its all bullshit.

Needless to say, yes, I did pick hardcore in the survey, but i didn't do it without complaining :p
