You know how much Yahtzee hates quick-time events, right? Name something you think games need to stop doing.

For instance:
Unlockable characters. When I unlock the hidden characters in Smash Bros Brawl, I just wonder why I couldn't ahve been given them to start with.

Quick time events.
Pointless Gimmicks because of the hardware. (looking at you DS / Wii ¬_¬)

What he said.

Plus, achievements designed to make you play again - such as inFamous's good/bad achievements.

You know those magically exploding barrels that like to explode when you shoot them?
Yeah, they need to go.

Trophies that are just stupid, if it enhances the game experience then fine but not one involving you getting through one area unseen or shooting ten guys with one bullet.

Nothing. Because regardless of your opinion on the feature, I guarantee there are plenty of people who love it, add to that the fact that there are probably just as many people who don't care either way and you have yourself a group of customers large enough for the designers to not give a crap about your opinion.

Dedicated servers. FLAME ON! [HEADING=2]Alright, this joke is bad.[/HEADING]

I'd like to see not complete disappearance, but decrease in "magically regenerating health" systems. Or at least some attempts at justification.

do you mean everything unlockable, or just characters? I ask because as a whole i like to unlock things, gives me something to do and therefore increases the live of the game by a huge amount.

I agree with this to an extent, however, I don't really have fond memories of continually searching for health packs in older games. I remember several situations in HL2 where I had to keep re-doing one bit in Nova Prospekt with very little health because I'd screwed up my save games.

Regenerating health can make things a little easy... and technically means all player characters are like Wolverine.

Perhaps the re-generating health could be available as a pick-up itself and you use it when you see fit?

Crates and barrels.

Really, how often do you actually see crates or barrels day to day?

ALMOST NEVER.

Worst of all are ones that not only explode, but that will go off just by being sneezed on.

If you had the characters to start with then there wouldn't have been much point playing the game, would there?

Anyway: The current trend in FPSs to have the health system whereby hiding behind cover for a few seconds will let you take infinite numbers of bullets... it kills the immersion.

The mandatory multiplayer add-on. Focus on the single-player, you schmucks. It may make it marginally less crappy on average.

I dont think QTE's should go away, but they do need to expand their interactivity.

Resistance and FarCry 2 had a good version, where your health only respawns to a certain point.

Kill-streak rewards that gets you more kills *glares at Call of Duty*. Game balance my arse IW, when a person is doing bad, giving them 10 seconds of extra health or copying a class doesn't balance gameplay for shit.

This, and regenerating health meters(or the lack of one).
