Gaming with gloves on.

So it getting colder, as it tends to do during fall and winter, and with that, comes dressing warmly.

Some people in order to save money don't use the heat. So that got me thinking:

Gloves, how do you game with them on? Or do you just let your hands freeze?


Personally, I let my hands freeze, because until recently I never owned gloves...

I understand about saving on heating during the winter months, but if you're really asking that question, I think you should just turn on the heat.

Gloves do keep my hands cozy, but being the hip teenager that I am, I never really wear the appropiate attire.

And another thing, Doing anything with gloves on (that doesn't involve snow) sucks. PERIOD.

I game sometimes with black fingerless gloves on because i have a bit of a skin condition that causes the skin on the top of the hand to itch and get sore, and end up developing lots of little cuts. If i wear the gloves it stops them itching or getting sore. I don't find they hinder my gaming at all, i still played Medal of Honour perfectly fine on and offline. Maybe that's just because my gloves are comfortable, but the fingerless tips really help to keep you in control. Full gloves are just far too clumsy.

They hamper the dexterity of fingers. I don't wear them; I tough it out.
Such a solution may not be for everyone, but it's how I do it.

I mean I'm all for saving a buck but I'd at least keep the thermostat at 68 to 65.

It's only 52, it's not -that- cold. nothing a light jacket wont fix.

I live in Canada, I have snowball fights with bare hands. No need for gloves indoors, and when it comes to outdoors normally I'll just put my hands in my pockets if they get cold.

My fingers wouldn't be as flexible with the gloves on.

Plus my family wants to see if we can last the entire winter without turning on the heat.

The only time you should wear gloves is if you are facing a total noob and you want to give them a chance. I once tried gaming with lifting gloves on and even those (which only cover the palm and first third of the finger, cut my gaming abilities dramatically.

if ur house is that cold turn up the heat or stick to RPGs.

I have a pair of thin, stretchy cloth gloves that I cut the fingertips off of. Never used it for gaming because my house isn't that cold, but they came in handy when I had to spend a couple hours working on an unheated rooftop computer lab with the doors/windows open.

I think fingerless (or at least fingertip-less) is the way to go. Well actually just keeping the heat above 65F is the way to go, but otherwise...

OT: I guess it really depends what type of glovs you wear. Very light wool gloves or somesuch might be okay to game in, but something like skiing gloves? Forget it. If it were an issue for me, I'd just let my hands freeze.

Personally, playing games with numb digits has always helped me. On games like guitar hero my fingers literally warm up and hit a state where Im at my peak. On shooters, my most used fingers are always warm because they're always moving, so Im fine. When I play RPG's...well...I get under the covers because playing with dialog is time consuming, and I dont wanna lose my fingers to frost bite.

It depends on the gloves. Heavy Thinsulate jobbies that you use to shovel your driveway will certainly hose your dexterity. But the thin Halloween gloves I use for cosplay aren't so bad. I 5-starred YYZ in GH2 on Expert wearing those.

Screw the rules, I have money. My heating bill could probably be $10 lower, but it's worth the ten bucks to me to tick the heater up an extra couple degrees.

But not using the heat saves me like 100 bucks a month.. >.> Gloves only cot 5 bucks. ...once.

I had the fingerless hobo-gloves. Left my fingertips able to press buttons, but also kept the rest of my hand toasty. XD

Just put a blanket over yourself and you can play normally with the controller in your hand. Doesn't work as well for pc gaming though.
