Seth walked in, box under his arm, which he set on the table, while also flicking a card to the floor, which brought up a map of Japan, a map that had 15 locations highlighted.

"We have the amulets, and we have our target locations. That's the good news. Bad news is, as you can see, the number of possible hiding locations would give the targets more then enough time to rabbit." Seth snapped his fingers and the 15 highlighted locations divided into 3 groups, denoted by Red, Blue and Yellow colors. "Fortunately, we don't have to hit all 15, two other Gungnir squads will be assisting." Seth explained, and snapped his fingers again, this time, all but the blue marks faded. "These are our targets. Mission remains the same however; sweep and clear, secure any intel of importance and confirm the presence of Mira and/or Vyrlian, and report back."

"If you have any questions, ask now, and keep then short, I want us ready and en-rout with in the hour." Seth added, his usual 'laid back' demeanor dropped for a more 'all business' one.

"So... am I the only one who aren't too sure about this? I don't... Well, I've never been anywhere I'd need an amulet just to survive. well, an amulet that does something else than make me invisible. Perhaps that's just me, though. I wouldn't say I'm a coward, but the point of what I do is not being in a situation where I rely on something to survive, it's too risky. You always need a second plan, or a third, but it shouldn't be an actual plan, just an idea of what you're doing. Instincts..."

Mirabelle followed what he meant near perfectly...until the end, at least. After that though, she wondered if they had somewhere in the conversation moved into a different tangent...

"Sometimes it feels like I never got past my newbie phase. Aaaanyways, What'cha been doing today? Preparing? What kind of armour is that, Mira?"

"Oh!" she said, snapping out of her thoughts beforep comprehending what was said and continuing, "Uh...well, it's a second variant of the Fleximetal armor that I made. I felt that the first one didn't have enough fluidity with it, what with it being made of one piece of metal that would try to reset to it's original shape once no external force was acting upon it. This one, I hope, should be just as protective while offering a better degree of movement and concealability..."

She stopped when Seth walked in and announced what they were doing. Apparently they were working with two other teams to take on fifteen locations, reminding her that they weren't the only ones working on this. She wondered what new information they had uncovered that her group didn't know about...

"If you have any questions, ask now, and keep then short, I want us ready and en-rout with in the hour."

"Um...are we further splitting into smaller teams to take out our targets quicker or are we sticking together this time?"

While he had been expecting the meeting, the timing of Seths message had still caught him off guard. Giving his apologies to his study group, Jarrah beat a hasty pace towards the Gungnir meeting room, fortunately arriving moments before Seth launched into his explanation of the plan.

"These are our targets. Mission remains the same however; sweep and clear, secure any intel of importance and confirm the presence of Mira and/or Vyrlian, and report back."

"If you have any questions, ask now, and keep then short, I want us ready and en-rout with in the our."

Jarrah raised his hand and waited for a moment before he spoke, only for Mirabelle to beat him to the punch on whether or not the team would be splitting up.

"Uh, what she said." He grumbled, sheepishly lowering his hand.

?-ep then short, I want us ready and en-rout within the hour."

Pushing through the door, Vik caught the very end of Seth?s brief. Nodding to everyone there, he walked over to the display, while helping himself to one of the baubles in the box; he was pretty sure his ?native? abilities would be enough to shrug off whatever a demon could conjure up in this world, but it never hurt to be certain.

Studying the glowing lights for a moment more, he was about to open his mouth when Mirabelle, and Jarrah, spoke up. ?They raise a good point.? He added. ?And I?ve got another. Aside from waiting for your little toys to go off, do we have anyway of testing for aether densities? Preferably from at least some distance.?

"Just relax, having to wear something to survive somewhere is nothing new to you, you dress warm for the winter, dress light for the summer, wear boots when you go hiking, and wear a magic amulet when you visit a demonic realm."

He crossed his arms. "I suppose? I still don't like it. Thanks, though, it sort of makes me feel better," he then said, smiling, not sure if it really was like that.

"Uh...well, it's a second variant of the Fleximetal armor that I made, I felt that the first one didn't have enough fluidity with it, what with it being made of one piece of metal that would try to reset to it's original shape once no external force was acting upon it. This one, I hope, should be just as protective while offering a better degree of movement and concealability..."

"Oh, cool," Sol replied, though he didn't really understand what she was talking about. Or rather, he got what she was saying, but he was clueless about how one would even be able to make a piece of metal reset to its original shape.

I suppose that's what I get for skipping high school...

Now it had become "skipping" high school, rather than dropping out of it and never continuing. It was such an odd feeling. He was going to university now. Sure, he hadn't actually had any classes yet, but still. Soon enough, Seth walked in and started talking about their mission, apparently 3 teams were checking out 15 locations.

"These are our targets. Mission remains the same however; sweep and clear, secure any intel of importance and confirm the presence of Mira and/or Vyrlian, and report back."

Sol raised his hand. "Well, I can confirm the presence of Mira--- right here," he pointed towards Mirabelle, before shrugging with a beaming smile. "I suppose that's not the Mira you were talking about, though. Still, an easy mistake to make, perhaps we should refer to this other Mira with a code-name?" He wasn't entirely sure if he was poking fun or pointing out the fact that it could cause issues out in the field, perhaps both.

"Um...are we further splitting into smaller teams to take out our targets quicker or are we sticking together this time?"

Sol looked at Mira, and then at Seth. They were supposed to secure intel and confirm the presence of their targets, right? He didn't get why sweeping the places were necessary. Heck, if they were splitting up, why waste his skills and abilities on a sweep, when he could do something a lot better.

"I want to go alone," Sol said. "I'll secure the info located in one of the fifteen locations, confirm the presence of one of those fancy demons if they're there, then be out of there. No need to murder everything in the building when they won't even know I'm there." With a nonchalant tone, he continued. "I mean, I'm used to working alone, I'm good at being unseen, and I'm pretty much useless in a fight with a demon in their "home" environment, you either send me alone, or I'd be better off not going at all. I understand the risks, and I'm sure it throws a wrench in whatever plan you had, but you know I wouldn't want to go alone if it wasn't the better way. Especially since I didn't want to go in the first place."

He looked at Seth, letting the guy figure it out for himself. Sol wouldn't be too annoyed if his request was denied, but it was clear to him, working together as a team was dangerous in a place where a fight could easily be the end of him.

Daniel kept quiet whilst the briefing was going on, listening to all the information that was being presented. He was glad that they were getting some help on this operation; this many potential locations would have taken a lot of time if they were to search through them all. Despite this much needed boon, there were still five sites that still called for investigation, which meant that potentially, the team would be split further to cover every possible area at once.

Sol meanwhile wanted to go in by himself. Daniel saw this as a risky move; after all, if he somehow had got caught, it would be difficult to get him out, but not impossible. Still, it was his choice; though the Angel doubted that Seth would agree to it, the demon did appear to have a reasonably sound mind when it came to making decisions.

"Could always go with a team Solomon, then whilst the others are drawing fire, you can go in all sneaky like."

"Anyway, following on from what Mirabelle was asking earlier, if the group does get split up, then what will be the composition of these smaller teams?"

"Why Viktor, how good of you to grace us with your presence, I was starting to wonder if some vampire hunter had gotten you" Seth said in tone so thick with false 'joy to see him' the group practically need fog lights, though that tone was dropped for one of considerable less friendliness "How fortunate that seems to not be the case. I don't care how much you hate me, a solider as experienced as your self has no excuse for showing up late to a squad briefing, and letting your personal feelings for your CO is something you should have outgrown decades ago." Seth said, chastising the vampire in front of the group, not that Seth figured Viktor would care, which was fine, Viktor's mission was likely coming to a close so the Vampire would be gone soon anyway, still, Seth figured Viktor was above such childishness.

"Anyway." Seth said turning back to the actual questions asked. "The target sites are shielded to prevent outsiders from looking in, so, no, you won't know the Aether Density until your in unfortunately. I know you have a low opinion of Demons, but you don't get to, and keep the position Vyrlian held in Lucifer's Army by being stupid, and shielding all your sites rather then just one or two is over all just a good, if basic, idea."

Seth then turned to the main topic of concern of the group. "I would prefer to keep the group intact for this mission. To many unknowns to feel totally secure in sending in smaller groups." Seth said, his tone denoting the gears where still turning on whether or not he'd let Sol go solo or not. "But I can't discount the skill sets of our more experienced members ether." Seth pondered for a few moments longer, then gave the map a look, one finger snap and shade of blue change later. "I will allow you to go solo this time, but you will remain in-contact, if something goes bad I want to know the moment it's happening, hopefully with enough to get some one there to pull you out if need be."

"The rest of you will be moving as a team. Viktor will be team lead again, unless he decides to be late, again, then Juliet will be running the OP." Seth said. "If there's nothing else, then go get ready to sortie, we're burning precious time."

Seth?s petulant attitude towards Viktor?s, minimal, tardiness dropped his opinion of the demon further. You want to whinge about me being a minute or two late, fine. He thought. But having a hissy fit in front of everyone just shows how petty you really are. Pushing aside all that, he turned his attention to the task at hand.

"The target sites are shielded to prevent outsiders from looking in, so, no, you won't know the Aether Density until you?re in unfortunately. I know you have a low opinion of Demons, but you don't get to, and keep the position Vyrlian held in Lucifer's Army by being stupid, and shielding all your sites rather than just one or two is over all just a good, if basic, idea."

He made a bit of a face at the fact they wouldn?t really know density until they stumbled into it, but he?d kind of expected as much?he?d just really been hoping to be wrong. Not even bothering to acknowledge Seth?s attempted barb, he twigged on something that Seth?d mentioned before. ?You said Vyrlian was a higher up in Luci?s army, and your friend mentioned that Luci is now a wall hanging, so do you know how Vyrl is still kicking? Your lot aren?t big on the whole ?mercy? concept so he probably didn?t take the field during whatever happened. Do you know if he turned coat, or did he just ?happen? to miss the fighting??

Sitting down, he drummed his fingers on his leg. ?I ask because it might tell us something about how secure these spots might be. If he turned traitor, then security might be tight, but probably not too thorough. After all, if he betrayed Lucifer to save his own skin throwing some lackeys under the bus will come as second nature, but those same lackeys won?t exactly be all too motivated to risk themselves for somebody like that. So he?ll have plenty of bodies to ward off retribution from any ?loyal? survivors, but those same bodies won?t be all too thrilled a being cast out as cannon fodder. On the other hand if he spun a good tail to his own about not making it in time to help Lucifer, there may be less of them, but they?ll be more invested in a fight.?

Surveying the assembled ?people? he wished, once again, that he was running the investigation and recovery operation entirely ?in house?.

"Good," Sol said. "No offence to you guys, of course," he turned towards the others. "I'm just... you know. Lone hunter, and all that. I really believe this will go best. And don't worry, I'll let you know if something is amiss." He rubbed his chin, as he listened to Viktor speak. He wasn't entirely sure why Viktor had such a strong dislike of demons, but the reasoning used by Viktor seemed sound.

Which reminds me...

Waiting for Seth and Viktor's disagreement to settle, Sol then spoke. "Would my own amulet be affected by this aether? I have to admit I'm not entirely sure how it's built up, but it's fairly well made, so it can take quite a while. I'm just not familiar with how it works." He smiled sheepishly. "Apart from that though, I have no further question."

Lenah

Lenah was unsure of she felt about what had happened the last week or so. First she had been sent to the hospital, then she had been kicked off the team -before even doing a single mission- and now she was sort of going behind the school's back to give information to Viktor. Or rather, she would be. Right now, however, she was wasting time, she hadn't been moved to the Gate development just yet, and she knew the group room would be occupied. Instead she was walking by the school gates, considering leaving for some drinks or even just a decent meal. God knew she hadn't gotten one in the hospital, and the last two days had been spent not really touching much food, the morphine sort of had left her rather... out of it.

At least I had the sense to drink.

She wasn't entirely sure whether that was a joke or not.

And I'm happy Mira didn't mind the music. Especially not after the fifteenth song.

With light steps, she walked over to the entrance, only to stop. A tall woman with dark brown-red hair and green eyes was standing outside the school property, glancing up at the signs. She was wearing a leathery coat with a practical outfit underneath. A dark, see-through blue -rather modern- scarf, hung loosely around her. She was armed, Lenah realized, a sword was sticking out from underneath the coat, it was easy to mistake for a purse or something similar, if you didn't know what you were looking for. Of course, she knew who this was, the rather odd sense of fashion was unmistakable.

"Heeey," Lenah said, an innocent smile on her face. "Sol's master, right? What are you doing here?" For a moment, it seemed the other didn't place her, but then she raised her eyebrow, and a slight smile appeared on her lips.

"Oh right. The nymph. Lenah, wasn't it?"

"Yup! So, you're here, because..." She put a finger on her lips. "Because Sol is staying, right?" Sol's master nodded.

"Yes. I believe he's making a big mistake, but I'm willing to listen. Is he in?" Lenah tilted her head.

"Well, sorta. I think there's a mission soon, so you should probably wait a bit, though. Where are you staying?"

"Nowhere at the moment."

"Well..." Lenah walked past her, motion for her to follow. "I'll show you a place to stay, then you can think about kidnapping Sol. I'm sure that the mission won't take too long."

"I suppose it's worth checking out."

Tomas

Tomas sigh a bit as he sat quietly to himself while the mission briefing was going on. Too many things seem to be coming up that he might see as a problem. With Sol wanting to go solo, which he understood but still find it stupid to do so. As well as Viktor showing up late and Seth thinking of giving the OP to Juliet, which he didn't fully trust.

Though he really didn't have anything to comment since everything seem to be done and over with. Though he did wanted to ask about his dragon side and how the aether will effect him at all, but he decide to go against it. He'll still wear the amulet as a just in case measure. He wasn't ready to die just yet in his young life.

William

William was getting a bit worried now about the mission. Not from anyone fighting or wanting to go off alone. Just the sheer fact that they are going to go somewhere dangerous. He wasn't fully sure if he himself was ready for this. His mentor did want him to get in a group to help him with his training more and to get him to socialize more.

Though now he feel like he over his head. He wanted to ask if he could back out of the mission himself, but would he forgive himself for it? He was part of a team now, and they should all count on each other for help. Gulping a bit as he knew for a fact he couldn't back out, even if he wanted too.

Juliet

Juliet had to admit she was disappointed she didn't rank higher than second place in terms of leadership, granted that could be solved but not without difficulty. Vampires didn't last long without being somewhat devious after all and while Vik looked like he'd been hit with a lawn mower he certainly seemed to have a few years under his belt. Would be easier to simply get on his good side, give advice and if things go wrong he takes the blame. Of course there is the matter of him hating demons, perhaps I should look into that?

In the meantime she had more pressing concerns, no doubt her boss would want to know about this mission and it had been too long since she last reported in anyways. She would be back to her full strength where they were going which could make it an ideal situation to make a move of some sort.

"Not sure I have anything to add," she said, sounding somewhat bored "Can I go? I'd like to be rested and... energized for this."

She glanced over at Will, sure that it would be enough to make him blush, to amuse herself if nothing else. But who knew, they were going to be going someplace very dangerous some humans liked to distract themselves from things like that.

Lone hunter, and all that. I really believe this will go best. And don't worry, I'll let you know if something is amiss."

"Ok..." Mira said, thinking to herself. She didn't exactly like the idea of Sol splitting off alone, especially considering his help and experience during the training mission but if he and Seth thought it was a good and tactical idea then she wouldn't argue, especially since they still had an actual demon who would probably be savvy to any demon tricks and Viktor, who seemed to have even more experience. Still, that did beg the question of whether or not she should let him borrow the armor or not. After all, he may not need it, not to mention that someone else might, but then again, she figures that it didn't hurt to have more chances at survival. In the end though, she just decided that asking him was better than just trying to decide on her own and besides, he would have better knowledge of his skills and whether it would be compatible with them or not.

"Hey Sol? Do you want to use this for this mission?", she said, holding up the armor that he was inquiring about earlier. "I figure that you would know better than I on if this would be of any use to you. You don't have to accept, I could give it to someone else too but I figure that since you'll be by yourself that it may help you more so you should get first choice..."

"Vyrlian was busy dealing with Ansoth's forces in south, just as her Highness and the young Emperor planned" Alexander said, after phasing through the wall. "Apologies for the sudden intrusion, but I bring an important missive from The Queens. A matter has present it self, that when considered with the recent events, and theft of relics, a meeting between the Queens and the Young Emperor has been called to discuss them in depth. So Lady Rozalin will not be able to take part in the mission as the 'Heavy', as she refereed to it, until this meeting is concluded." The Panther said "You needn't worry, a suitable replacement has been arranged for, a Raven in fact, anyway, that is all I came here to say. If you need to know about the Ravens ask the serpent, as I have other duty's to tend to and little time to do them." And vanished as quickly as he came.

Seth got that, 'I can tell somethings up' look on his face, and thought about things for a moment before getting the briefest hints of an 'A-HA!' look. A look that curled into a smirk. "Raven's are a Mercenary group. They saw a lot of action during the Queen's and the Emperors rise to power and are credited with killing Asmoday and Mephistopheles, among others. Don't worry about Vyrlian trying to buy them out ether, The Raven will be at his throat before he has time to make an offer."

"Now, if there's nothing else, go get ready for the mission."

"Hey Sol? Do you want to use this for this mission? I figure that you would know better than I on if this would be of any use to you. You don't have to accept, I could give it to someone else too but I figure that since you'll be by yourself that it may help you more so you should get first choice..."

"I suppose I could? I mean, does it limit my movement any? I know that you made it like that for further flexibility, but, you know. Also, is it heavy? If so, I think I'll be better off just----" he trailed off, as the cat-demon made its way through the wall, and started talking about stuff related to what Sol had sort of but not entirely slept through.

Still, this Queen was going to be there? Why not send professionals, then, rather than young, mostly untrained people?

It didn't entirely make sense to him, the mission seemed a bit too important for that. Then again, he had just gotten the permission to go alone, so he probably shouldn't be second guessing their judgement. Eventually, this "Alexander" phased through the walls again, making Sol wonder if it perhaps had been a better idea for the school to build their student dorms with some sort of protective magic or material so that people couldn't just walk through the walls and murder everyone inside.

"I won't then," Sol said with a wink, his tone both amused and dismissive at once. He hadn't really worried about anyone buying the mercenaries. Personally, as a hunter for hire, Sol had sort of a rule when he took jobs, unless it became completely clear that the ones he had taken the job for was morally in the wrong, he didn't just... well, change sides. Too much of a bother, not to mention, it would pretty much ruin his reputation, even if it had resulted in more money.

"Now, if there's nothing else, go get ready for the mission."

"Got it, boss," he said, with the same nonchalant tone. Looking towards Mira, he went back to what he had started saying.

"If it doesn't hinder my movements, or make any sound or anything, I would love to have it. If it does, however, then I think I'll be better without. Thanks for the concern, though," he smiled, charmingly.

Juliet

"Now, if there's nothing else, go get ready for the mission."

"Will do," Juliet said, smirking as she stood up and made her way out of the room. It would hopefully not take long to get in touch with her boss, though she didn't want to use her own room as the meeting place. People might pop in there after all, or take note of any visitors she might have.

She found a quiet and secure location and went about contacting Juri, she would need her to show up in order to speak to Val Ruk after all. It didn't take long, after all she was fairly practiced at doing so by now, and soon enough she had summoned Juri. She always made her feel uncomfortable, though she had never quite been able to place why. Still once Juri had arrived it was a simple enough matter of speaking to Val Ruk through her, and giving a full report on recent events, the current situation, and the upcoming mission.

Hopefully he isn't upset at how long it has been since I contacted him, though its not like anything important has happened until recently. Besides I'd contact him more often if he wasn't so unpleasant, not that I'd tell him that, say something like it's too risky to give frequent reports. Still she kept a smiling, subservient, demeanor throughout her report. The sort of attitude she was used to projecting to keep her superiors happy, it had gotten her rather far after all.

Vul Ruk

Juri stood motionless as Juliet reported the goings on to her master. Vul, sat listening with the same looks of disapproval he always had. Until he heard the Queen's where sending in a Raven in Rozalin's place, while both the Queens went to speak with Anosth and Hexen. That earned a slightly more irate look from him then he usually had, where as the news about Sierra having the Demon ripped right out of her made him grin as did the confirmation the school had the 'weapon' and that it was being researched."

"Satisfactory work. Assuming the servants of this ... Vyrlian? Was it? Don't kill you, I'll expect a report on that girls progress with the weapon research." He said, cut the feed, and Juri vanished from sight, her mission completed.

Vul got up from where he was sitting and walked over to a shelf, picked up a stone, and put it in the mirror he'd just finished speaking to Juliet through. "It's me, there's been a change to the plan, The Queen Whore isn't coming, They're sending a Raven in her stead."

Viktor had to bite back a sigh as Solomon complained that he preferred to work alone; something like this was far] too dangerous for someone a ?squishy? as a human to go solo, no matter how careful they may be?but before he could speak up Seth over-rode any objections he may have made. Goddamn I wish I was working with professionals?

"Not sure I have anything to add, can I go? I'd like to be rested and... energized for this."

More out of habit, than anything else, he looked towards Juliet as she spoke. Catching her as she glanced at William, his eye hardened for a moment before he got control of himself. He was about to stand to go and get ready himself, when ?Mr. Whiskers? phased through a wall with some new developments. For the most part, nothing Alexander said effected the mission too greatly, but Seth?s comment on the hired muscle did cause him a bit of concern.

Don't worry about Vyrlian trying to buy them out ether, The Raven will be at his throat before he has time to make an offer."

?Still sounds a bit iffy.? He said out loud. He had nothing against mercenaries, hell the Clan used them on a semi-regular basis for operations they needed to remain a bit more distant from. ?The way you said that, it sounds like these Raven would turn on us in field, if offered the right price. I know it?s a bit much to ask from a demon, but I prefer my mercs to have at least a few scruples when it comes to client loyalty.?

"Now, if there's nothing else, go get ready for the mission."

"Alright then..." Mira said, wondering what she could pack or prepare to help with the mission ahead. Of course, the downside to that was that she had little idea of what they would face but still, maybe she could prepare a few generalized things that could prove useful...

"If it doesn't hinder my movements, or make any sound or anything, I would love to have it. If it does, however, then I think I'll be better without. Thanks for the concern, though,"

...Mira stared at Sol for a moment, confused. She hadn't considered the idea of noise when she made her newest prototype, and though she did consider movement into it, it became clear that Mirabelle would need to consider sound as well when moving onwards with this. Still, she did think of one way to check how sound resistant it was...

Getting up from her seat, she unfolded the armor and gave it a good shake, letting the scales hit each other. The scales bounced off of each other like rubber, remaining nearly silent all the while. With that Mira nodded and handed the armor to Sol saying, "I think it's soundproof enough for your purposes and I did make it to be less movement restrictive so it should serve your purposes well. And now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go see what I can prepare for the mission."

With that, she turned and headed back to her room to get ready.

Seth just sighed "Concerning it's very likely going to be The Raven's Commander that's coming, I gonna say your just being paranoid." He said, sounding kind of tired of Viktor's attitude.

Short Time Later

The teams, now standing at the entrances of their first target locations.

Sol

Sol's location was tucked away in a cave. The surrounding area was forested, and the cave mouth was easily big enough to fit a human through and there was a barely visible haze over the entrance, presumably the shield. On the other side it was clear that there was some things, like a hand rail, in the cave as well.

Viktor's Team

Viktor's Teams location was hidden in an abandoned Hotel. The place looks like it used to be nice but that was clearly not the case now. The Shield Haze was visible in doors and windows, and despite being abandoned, there was signs the place has been worked on a bit.

Now

He?d stopped well short of the target, and led the others in on foot for about half a kilometer, telling everyone to keep alert for sentries or other potential threats. Having not found any perimeter security made him a bit uneasy as he led them to a sheltered spot not far from the building. Damn, as much as I hate it, we?ll have to play it by ear.

With a muffled sigh he signalled to Juliet and Mirabelle. ?I know you can fly.? He said quietly to the succubus. ?Do you think you can lift her on to the roof?? He swallowed a mental curse to whomever ?benched? Lenah; with her talents it would?ve made this much easier. ?Juliet, if you can, I want you to fly Mirabelle onto the roof and then do a quick search for any possible entrances up there. Mirabelle, since you?re only other one I?m certain will be unaffected by Aether levels, I?ll need you to do the actual level checking. If it?s really high, you two will fall back to here and we?ll call in the cavalry. If it?s nominal, signal us and me and Jarrah will bring the other three up with us, and we?ll all go in via the roof.?

Leaving those two to work out the fine details, he moved over to the rest of the group. ?Juliet and Mirabelle are going to do a preliminary scout.? He said. ?Assuming things aren?t too hot, we?ll join them for the infiltration and sweep.? Focusing on Jarrah, he went on. ?It?ll be up to us to get William, Tomas and Daniel up there; you think you can climb that carrying one of them??
