Tomas

Tomas didn't like this mission at all, not one bit. Too many unknowns, still too many team members who aren't ready for combat, and the one who could help out went solo. Now they haven't even run into a single opposing force. Something just doesn't add up here yet. He did wonder if that was the enemy plan. ' The best way to hide something, is to do it in plain sight...' Tomas though to himself. Though he kept all this thinking to himself. He really didn't want to demoralize the other members of his team.

As they made their stop, he listen to Viktor plan. Wondering if Viktor knew he was a dragon and he had wings of his own as he cough up a bit to get his attention. "If she needs help, or if we can go inside from the rooftop, I also have a pair of wings." Tomas said. He just hope Viktor had a reason of not letting Tomas help besides just forgetting.

William

William sigh as they took a break. He didn't know if it was good or bad that they haven't run into anything yet. He would assume it was bad, but it could just mean that this wasn't the right location, right? Sort of hoping that was the case but refute it. He didn't want to push anything evil onto the other teams if they didn't have too. He trust his team to get the job done. They did have both Viktor and Sol. Both of them were expert in fighting and should be able to handle whatever comes their way, right?

Pushing thoughts aside as he listen to what Viktor and Tomas said. While he wouldn't be able to help carry anyone, or get up there on his own. He did think of a way to help out. "Um..I-I can trasform into my r-rifle form if need be...shouldn't that be easier to carry if we go with that plan?"

Daniel rode up front with Viktor as they drove towards the first mission site that the team would be visiting; from what they were told, it was an abandoned hotel, though given who was occupying it now, made to look disused. They'd stopped half a kilometre away from the hotel itself and went the rest of the way on foot. It came as a surprise to Daniel that there was an apparent lack of visible security, this suggested to him that the building itself maybe well guarded.

Upon arrival, Viktor had a planned laid out. Juliet and Mirabelle would go up to the roof first to see if the coast was clear, and if it was, then both Viktor and Jarrah would carry everyone else up and they'd go in for a roof insertion. A rather sound plan, which made sense given that it came from the military minded vampire. Daniel meanwhile was standing a bit away from the group, carefully analysing the building, but close enough to hear the conversation.

[sub]"Yormp."[/sub] Daniel, quietly speaking an old Angelic language into one of his blank playing cards, an image of a closed eye appearing on its surface. This, with the use of a second card he'd have to burn a bit later, should allow him to warp up to the roof. It would take some time for the card to be useful again as they had to recharge for anything special like this.

"I've got my own way of getting up there if that helps speeds things along." Daniel added as he rejoined the others showing the charmed card in his hand.

"Mirabelle, if the coast is clear once you and Juliet reach the roof; place this card on the ground. Don't worry, it'll make sense when it happens."

Juliet

"Juliet, if you can, I want you to fly Mirabelle onto the roof and then do a quick search for any possible entrances up there. Mirabelle, since you're only other one I'm certain will be unaffected by Aether levels, I'll need you to do the actual level checking. If it's really high, you two will fall back to here and we'll call in the cavalry. If it's nominal, signal us and me and Jarrah will bring the other three up with us, and we'll all go in via the roof."

Juliet had to raise an eyebrow at Viktor's statement that he knew she could fly, she wondered how he knew or if he was just guessing. Most likely his coven had some knowledge of demons. The plan was simple enough, and surprisingly intelligent, and she had no issues with serving as a scout.

"Alright then," she said, transforming into her demon form. Wings tore through the back of her shirt and unfurled, large and black, behind her even as her tail wormed its way out waving gently back and forth in the air. It had been too long since she assumed this form, since she had felt heavier aether than what the mortal realm provided, and it felt good.

She stretched, enjoying the feel of her claws clicking into place before she retracted them and turned her gaze to Mirabelle, her catlike eyes glinting with amusement. Daniel gave Mirabelle a card, no doubt related to his powers, and Will stammered about transforming to be easier to carry.

"Let's get going Mira," she said, the glanced at Will "I can come back to grab anyone else who needs a lift."

She grabbed hold of the golem and began to fly upwards. The first few wingbeats were heavy, kicking up air and dust around them as she struggled to gain momentum with the load she was carrying, but then she shot upwards and swiftly and gracefully ascended to the roof. Once there she deposited Mirabelle carefully on the roof.

Sol hadn't spent a lot of time preparing. He didn't have an awful lot that would be very helpful against a demon, but he brought the most important of his post-it notes with spells, in case he needed to get out of there quickly, or protect himself against more than one foe. A brief moment had also been spent saying a quick prayer, if only to calm his own nerves.

He was currently wearing Mirabelle's armor, it didn't feel like it would do much to protect, but he supposed that was the point. If it was heavy and limited his movement, he wouldn't have been wearing it, after all. After being dropped off in his location, Sol checked both amulets to ensure they were still completely on, and couldn't be seen. Better for any possible foe to think he was without anything like it, than to give away a weak point.

Not that my entire body isn't a weak-point here, though.

That was why he had gone alone, after all. Being seen was the worst thing that could happen. Approaching the cave, he sighed, of course there was a shield there.

So...

He made sure to go somewhere not easily seen, as he passed through the shield and took the whole cave area into notice. Where to go, if there was anyone there that could possibly detect him. He was more than tempted to use his amulet, but he couldn't just waste it all willy-nilly.

Where does the handrail lead to?

He was tempted to find out, but he would only do so if it seemed safe without much doubt.

"Mirabelle, since you're only other one I'm certain will be unaffected by Aether levels, I'll need you to do the actual level checking. If it's nominal, signal us and me and Jarrah will bring the other three up with us, and we'll all go in via the roof."

"Alright." she said, sounding calm. In her head though, she was silently starting to panic, trying to figure out why she was the one who had to look for enemies and not someone more experienced. Sure, she wasn't paniced before but at that time she thought that they weren't going to risk splitting the group anymore. Now though, now they were splitting them up again and she was chosen to be the one alone. Still, Viktor's reasoning seemed solid, enough so that she couldn't ignore it, so she quickly stuffed down her slight panic and tried working on ridding herself of it. Besides, she would just be doing a quick bit of checking, she wouldn't be split up that long...right?

"Mirabelle, if the coast is clear once you and Juliet reach the roof; place this card on the ground. Don't worry, it'll make sense when it happens."

Mirabelle stared at the card for a moment before looking back at the one who gave it to her. She still didn't know too much about Daniel...but she did trust Viktor's judgement so she nodded and took the card, being careful not to bend it. Besides, it did a lot to calm her nerves to have something that could summon an ally up there.

"Let's get going Mira,"

"Right.", she said as Juliet grabbed her and started to lift. It took a second or two for them to actually take off do to More's weight, something she found herself somewhat embarassed by, but once they did Juliet seemed to have no trouble keeping them both up.

Landing carefully on the roof, she motioned a thank you to Juliet before leaving her alone to focus on finding other entrances, turning back to the task of seeing how many people were around. She checked around, not seeing anyone at the moment, before she put down Daniel's card and looked for a way in. Locating a stairwell entrance, Mirabelle stood to the side and opened the door as quietly as she could, peaking down the stairwell for any signs of life.

"Um..I-I can transform into my r-rifle form if need be...shouldn't that be easier to carry if we go with that plan?"

Viktor scowled a bit as both Tomas and William revealed a greater extent of their abilities; not that he was mad at them is was just that nothing in the files Seth had provided him with had said anything about either Tomas' wings, or William?s ability to form into complex machines. Some underling of his really dropped the ball there?

He?d expected Daniel may have come up with something he didn?t know about, but he?d (wrongly) assumed he?d been provided complete details on everyone else he was expected to work with. Going to have to bring that up with the overgrown boots when we get back.

Setting that aside for later, he changed plans a bit. ?Alright, thank you both. In that case; Tomas, you grab William. If Juliet and Mirabelle need back up he should give you a bit of standoff range, otherwise you can just ferry him to the others. Meanwhile, we?ll head up the outside.? He said.

Apart from the reservation toward working with an unknown demonic mercenary, and the fact that Solomon had decided to go it alone, Jarrah was fine with the plan laid out, and didn't see any issues to raise during the meeting. Soon enough, they were underway to their first location, an abandoned hotel, and Viktor was laying out another plan.

"It'll be up to us to get William, Tomas and Daniel up there; you think you can climb that carrying one of them?"

Jarrah gave a curt nod in reply, and started to think of who he would be able to carry up when the situation to resolve itself almost immediately.

"Alright, thank you both. In that case; Tomas, you grab William. If Juliet and Mirabelle need back up he should give you a bit of standoff range, otherwise you can just ferry him to the others. Meanwhile, we'll head up the outside."

Jarrah touched the wood opal amulet on his wrist, shedding his human disguise (after all, their transport had been cramped while he was in his disguise) and rolled his now muscular shoulders, limbering up his keen eyes picked out an adequate pathway up the side of the building.

Daniel watched as Juliet shifted into her true form, looking much like she did before, but sporting a few demonic accessories; what stood out the most was the serpentine tail and bat like wings. She proceeded to lift Mirabelle up into the air and carry the metal golem up towards the rooftop. Jarrah meanwhile had shifted back into his natural state after touching an amulet around his wrist; Daniel then suddenly remembered how hairy the Yowie were, it had been many years since he went down under after all.

A few minutes later, his deck of cards glowed. Sorting through them, Daniel found a card that matched the charmed one he created, however this time the design was of an open eye, meaning it was ready for use. He flipped the card round a couple of times.

"Guess this means my rides here. Well, see you chaps at the top." Daniel remarked before bringing the card to his lips.

"[sub]Gizevihv Yormp.[/sub]" He said, before the card burned up in his hand, and then Daniel dispersed into a flurry of cards which proceeded to fly up towards the rooftop, not exactly a subtle manoeuvre, but stylish, and certainly kept an enemy guessing in a crowded fight. The spot where Mirabelle had placed the card glowed, and as the card burned up, it was replaced by a symbol [http://vignette3.wikia.nocookie.net/mortalinstruments/images/4/46/VF_Angelic_Rune.png/revision/latest?cb=20131030111008] that was silver in colour. Cards soon landed where the symbol was, and as they appeared, they began to build a familiar shape, that of Daniel.

"Found anything yet Mirabelle?" Daniel asked as he stepped from the spot, the reassembly process now complete.

So far the Cave seemed safe, with no immediate signs of life, though a few partly used, but currently unlit candles lined the path down suggested some one had been around semi recently.

Hotel Team

On the roof, Mirabelle's peek inside yielded, no immediate sign of life, or sign of recent life, but she was looking into a stair well, and not where people would normally be.

Meanwhile on the ground, the team members still on the ground found a fire escape that looked to be in working order, if a bit rusty.

Viktor gritted his teeth a bit as the angel popped off without even waiting for an ?All Clear? from above. Why bother planning, if the first thing everyone does is ignore the plan. Once again he wondered if working with the ?school? was nothing more than a waste of time.

Finishing her sweep, Juliet checked in with Mirabelle; and Daniel all of a sudden, before moving to the edge of the roof and signalling to the rest of the group. ?Okay, looks like it?s clear.? Viktor said, to the others as he saw Juliet. ?Tomas, grab William and we?ll see you two up there. Jarrah, don?t know a whole lot about your kind, but that fire escape looks like it can handle someone your size.? Nodding to the four of them, he walked away from the building until he was about ten meters out.

Setting his feet so he had good traction on launch, he took a last look at the wall of the hotel, mentally double checking his planned course of action, before launching into a full sprint. Reaching the wall at full speed, he launched himself up and ?wall ran? until he could reach the sill of the third floor window. Using his immense strength he launched himself to the ledge of the fifth floor, before repeating the same move and sending himself up and over the edge of the roof and landing with a muted crunch on the gravel. All total, it?d taken him no more than 20 or 30 seconds to make the climb.

Tomas shake his head lightly and transform into his half-dragon form. His wings appearing behind him full extended. He looks over at William who nods that he is ready. He transform as well, turning into his rifle form as Tomas catches him in mid air. Holding him tightly as he didn't want to drop him in flight, as he didn't know if he would survive the fall or not.

After that, Tomas took off towards the other building. Soon landing beside the others as he did a quick check around to make sure everything was all cleared. Tomas let William go, and Will quickly transform back into his human self.

It seemed like Sol had some luck, from the looks of it no one was around. Of course, it wasn't completely abandoned, there were unlit candles around, that seemed like they had been used lately. It was a bit dark too, but his vision was pretty good in the dark now that he still had the night-vision goggles that Viktor had either forgotten to retrieve, or let him keep because of that the mission wasn't really over yet.

Probably the former one. And wearing them makes me look like a total dork, but at least they are useful.

Perhaps he could keep them so long that Viktor forgot about them. The vampire mafia probably had a bunch of resources either way, and Sol needed them more. He started looking around for clues, books or devices that could hold information necessary for the mission, before continuing onto the path, letting it take him to what he assumed to be the core of the hiding place. His instincts told him that it was getting a little too easy, too few people for a place like this.

But then again, perhaps Seth just gave me the easiest spot.

Nevertheless, he stayed alert, just because it seemed too easy, didn't mean it would be.

"Found anything yet Mirabelle?"

Mira jerked around, freaked by the voice, stopping only when she spotted Daniel. She figured that the card would be his transport up there...she just didn't know why he had transported himself up there right then. Wasn't he supposed to wait? Still, at least she had someone else to watch her back. She just wondered what had caused this all to go off-script already.

"No, I haven't, but I haven't finished checking all the way...", she responded quietly. "Still, I haven't seen any sign of activity in the stairwell and considering the degridation of this place and the only immediatly known transport through the building seems rather unused, i guess that there may not be that many people around...or if they are, then they aren't moving through the building through the most likely way..."

She tried to check a little more before Juliet finished her sweep and landed but wasn't able to come up with anything else that was real substantial in time. After telling her what she had told Daniel, she guessed that Juliet thought it was enough to proceed since she signaled the rest of them up. Personally, Mira felt that it may be a bit to early for that...but then again, she really wasn't too sure what was happening. She just hoped that she wouldn't have made Viktor angry with her small quantity of information. Speaking of which, Viktor arrived quickly to the top of the hotel, in less than a minute (i.e. quicker than what she would have hoped), along with Tomas and Will. Still, she would have to strengthen herself, tell him what she found, and hope that it was satisfactory for now.

"Um, to bring you up to speed...I've seen no enemies yet, and I've located a stairwell but I haven't been able to check much farther. There haven't been any recent signs of life in there from what i've seen but as to an indication of how many people there are, I can't really say without just guessing. Sorry."

Saying that, she took a step back and awaited Vik's next orders.

"Tomas, grab William and we'll see you two up there. Jarrah, don't know a whole lot about your kind, but that fire escape looks like it can handle someone your size."

Jarrah had spotted the fire escape almost as soon as Daniel disappeared, and considering it was that or an attempt at scaling the exterior of the building, the yowie went with the obvious choice.

"What about y-" Jarrah's question was cut off as Viktor took off running. For a moment, Jarrah was worried that Viktor would run straight into the wall, but that thought was abandoned when Viktor launched himself into the air and ran up the surface of the wall itself.

Accepting the fact that he would now be the last person to make it onto the roof, Jarrah wasted no time in climbing the fire escape, hauling himself up with very little flair, though utilizing his strength to go as quickly as possible.

When he finally lifted himself over the side of the roof, he made his way over to the others.

"So, we good?"

?It is what it is.? Viktor replied with a shrug. ?Didn?t exactly give you a whole lot of time to check.? He shot Daniel a brief glare as Jarrah made it up.

"So, we good?"

?So far. Unless Juliet has anything to add, we?ll proceed with a floor by floor sweep in two teams. Daniel, William and I are Team One; Juliet, you and the other are Team Two. We?ll sweep the fifth floor, while Team Two drops down and sweeps the fourth; assuming all goes well, once we?re done we?ll leap-frog to the third, while Team Two drops to the second. After the top four floors are clear, we?ll gather in the stairwell and sweep the first floor as whole.?

Breaking for a moment, he looked about to make sure everyone was paying attention. ?Keep your radios on, but keep the chatter down.? He said, tapping the ear piece of the radios he?d handed everyone when they?d set out. ?Even though there?s no signs of life, assume there are hostiles inside, and move cautiously. If you see anyone, warn the rest and try to avoid contact. We?re not here on an S&D.?

Sol

As Sol wander he came across, a lot of nothing mostly. Signs some one, or more likely a group of some ones, had been there to be sure, but nothing to suggest anyone was still there.

The discovery of a 'library' helped confirm the feeling this place had been abandoned. It looked as though some one had been burning documents, given the ash in a metal dish on a 4 legged stand, though not all the documents had been burnt.

Further investigation, deeper into the cave would yield the sight of corpses, laying on a spell circle with a stand in the middle that looks like it held something, something long since gone, while the corpses them selves looked like what ever had happened, dried them out.

Hotel team

With both teams sweeping the building covering the hotel went quicker then it other wise would have.

Team 2, much like in the cave with Sol, found a 'library' with a metal dish, on a stand filled with ash from burning documents, how ever in this case, the ashes where still smoking, and in some cases still glowing red, and from the look of things, not everything had been burnt yet.

Team 1 on the other hand, made it to the ground floor before finding to much of interest. Finding the end of the ritual, fresh body's laying in a spell circle, and with a stand in the middle, this one still hold the object, a glowing crystal and trio demons standing around it. The three demons didn't look like 'warriors' more like, grunts. None of them where very big, and the way they talked they sounded like some fast food workers on break.

One of them vanished with the crystal leaving the other 2 behind to finish burning the 'documents'.

After everyone had arrived, Viktor went over the next stage of the plan, in which the group would be split into two further teams, with each team clearing alternating floors from one another. During this Viktor glared at Daniel, most likely because he had jumped the gun regarding when it was safe to come up.

Team One's search was largely uneventful, whilst there had been occasional signs of prior activity, what was left of it was hardly of any use to the group now. This put Daniel slightly on edge, as they should of encountered something by now, even if it was a couple of grunts left behind to guard the place.

Speaking of which, when they arrived on the ground floor, they came across the scene of what looked like a recently completed ritual, judging from the prepared bodies, some still dripping with crimson ichor, laying in a perfect circle around an altar of some description, with three demons situated around it. One of the demons quickly disappeared after clutching something from the altar, leaving the other two to burn stuff over a fire. Daniel's senses tingled as he felt something coming from the ground around them, a trap perhaps?

"Be careful where you step lads, the floor doesn't feel quite right to me, might be a trap." He said quietly to both Viktor and William.

The trip down was uneventful, the floors and rooms they swept through looked like nobody had been there for quite a while; it wasn?t until they reached the ground floor that they encountered any signs of activity at all. Ahead of their position, three knuckle-draggers seemed to be in the process of cleaning up after a ritual of some sort. Shit?we call for ?backup? and the papers will be gone before it gets here? His thoughts were interrupted by the soft voice of the angel beside him.

"Be careful where you step lads, the floor doesn't feel quite right to me, might be a trap."

?If it?s not, I?m the Pope.? He muttered just as quietly. ?Fall back to the stairs, the others should be here soon.? Once at the entrance to the stairwell, they only had to wait a minute or two for Juliet and the others to arrive. The description they gave of the library, and the ritual marking, fit with what was going on down the hall. ?Whoever?s in charge, is cleaning house.?

After a moment?s mental deliberation, he sighed and drew his gun. Slowly opening it, he extracted the shot shell from the bottom barrel, and replaced it with a slug like the one in the top. Closing it as softly as possible, he gripped it by the barrels and handed it to Juliet. ?We need to take the two down the hall at the same time.? Letting go of the gun, he looked to William. ?I?m going to need your help with that as well.? He could tell the boy as nervous but to his credit, William just nodded and transformed back into the same gun Viktor had carried up to the roof.

?Alright.? He said to everyone. ?Me and Juliet and going to drop those two up ahead. When that happens, we all move up as fast as we can, and try and secure any information we find. Like Daniel said, there?s a good chance this is a trap, but we need any information we can get. Stay close and watch each other's backs.?

Looking at Juliet, he felt a surge of anger but he quickly quell it, no was not the time. ?Ok, both barrels are rifled, so just think of it as an oversized pistol; plus it?s only a twelve gauge so recoil shouldn?t be an issue for a demon. Alright, you take the one on the felt, we hit them on ?three?.? Shouldering the ?rifle? to his good eye, he took aim at the center of the demon?s head. ?One?Two?Three.? *CRACK!*

Sol started gathering up items and half-burnt documents, wondering what exactly the content was. However, he figured it was better to bring it to Seth, who knew more about what exactly was going on. Or so he hoped, anyhow, else this mission truly was some sort of chase.

At least they know we know, though.

He saw no other reason to burn this much apart from procedure, and had it been an organized, proper action, surely they would have finished it without leaving something behind.

So they know we're on their tails. Their demon tails. Not good.

Perhaps this was a trap too, if so, he would have to get out quickly. Sol decided to finishing scouting, and happened upon a ring of bodies, clearly drained by some sort of ritual, or perhaps in the middle of it. Regardless, he brought out his book, and compared the circle to magic he already knew what did. When he realized it was a new one, he started drawing. Sol wasn't about to step into the middle of it, but he could at least provide a decent description of it when he got back.

Is that all, then?

He asked himself, listening for sounds as he drew, eager to be over and done with this place.

And then onto the next one?

If he was lucky, they would just decide to have the bigger groups do it. Sol wasn't exactly lazy, but he couldn't hide his dislike of this place. It was... wrong.

Viktor, for his part, took the news of her lack of info well, though he shot a look at Daniel after he indicated that. Still, they were all up there now, regardless of any unknown danger so Viktor outlined a plan to deal with that, mostly involving splitting up.

Following Viktors instructions, both teams began sweeping each floor, trying to find anything of use. Of course, that didn't take long for the team she was on as they came to a room with a metal dish with some papers still burning inside. She wondered what they might be able to salvage from them...of course, they would need to put them out quick before the papers burnt up before she even began thinking about that. Moving quickly over to the dish, she fished out any still solid pieces of documents that she could grab and stamped out any fire that she found on them. Of course, actually examining them would have to wait until later, since they were in a building that potentially had a large amount of enemies so, once she was sure that the fires were out, she stuffed the papers as neatly as she could into her pocket and followed the rest of her group down.

They caught up to Vik's group quickly, not finding much else of interest on the way...or at least, not anything that Mira thought would be of interest. Once they arrived, they told him about what they had found which prompted him to speak and tell them, "Whoever's in charge, is cleaning house." She wondered how that saying came about and, more importantly, what would cause these brings to "clean house" as it were...but ceased that for now as Viktor explained the plan.

"Alright. Me and Juliet and going to drop those two up ahead. When that happens, we all move up as fast as we can, and try and secure any information we find. Like Daniel said, there's a good chance this is a trap, but we need any information we can get. Stay close and watch each other's backs."

Mirabelle nodded and prepared herself while Viktor instructed Juliet. She decided that once they moved, she would run up and secure the other papers that were being tossed in to burn...though she also readied herself to help out just in case one of the others got in trouble. True, it may cost them a bit of important information but she figured the safety of her friends was more important.
