Gears of War 2 Not Coming To PC

I know that chances are a Pc version will come in the future but I was hoping it would be an "in the next couple of months" sort of future. Not an "it's never, ever coming" kind of future.

hopefully, IF they port it, they make better gamepad support cuz the one from GoW stinks.

This is the generation of no exclusives, after all.

Nowadays, "exclusive" tends to mean that you got to play it first. As in, sure, there was a PC version of Mass Effect, but 90% of the gamers who were going to play it already had by then.

Have you played it? Just curious to know what you thought was bad.
The only reason I like it is because it looks gorgeous and the gameplay is really, really, really satisfyingly fun. Nothing else.

Also I found it disconcerting on an Xbox so maybe thats why you didn't enjoy it.

Sorry, but if just about every critic claims a game is great and the vast majority of players ALSO think its great, its in FACT great. Your opinion that its ^&%$*$ means nothing. Never has, never will.

Something popular does NOT automatically make it great just like it doesn't make it crap either. But when combined with critical acclaim & financial success, the only argument against its quality would be "everyone else is crazy", which basically makes YOU crazy.
Usually when popular critically acclaimed games like Halo or WOW get bashed, all you need to look at is the person doing the bashing. They always fit the same elitist, know it all, UBER nerd stereotype and that's all you need to know when discounting anything they have to say=)

Perception is reality.

Hype =/= Quality. Alot of people gave the thing a 98% score even before they got it. For accurate scores, look at the pc version. 8.7 critics and 5.4 users. Gow2 already has a 6.4 and it hasn't been released yet.

As for epic: if you make the game end in a cliffhanger RELEASE THE FUCKING SEQUEL.

Yawn, that would work accept for the simple fact that your analogy falls flat on it's face when you consider the fact that sites like metacritic only record maybe a hundred profesional reviews for a game. There are a couple million people with Xboxes and live out there who aren't playing the game just as there are a few million playing the game. It's a bit ridiculous to claim that the opinion of another person doesn't matter when your own opinion isn't based on your own thinking but on that of critics!

Popularity among critics does not actually mean a product is well made. Microsoft Operating systems are on most of the world's desktop workstations it does not then follow that said Operating Systems are well made systems, it just means that they are popular for one reason or another. (Other than quality, the security problems introduced by the utterly idiotic user privelage practices of windows being the best example.)

You know it will be showing up anyway about six months after the fact. You still can't make me care. I thoroughly hated the first one. Lame guns, difficult controls, bland characters (Cole was very amusing though) and bad level design were rampant in that game.

I will give it one thing, though. It made me realize that the only Epic games I've actually liked were UT99, UT04 and to a lesser extent UT03. Ive played every one of them since Jazz Jackrabbit and I think I've had enough. They might lure me back with UT4 if it was developed with PC as the lead platform, but otherwise...
