I'm almost 90% sure that the Locust Queen is Dom's Wife or somehow connected with the locust queen. Let's look at the facts.

1. It says in the game informer magazines that, "On that day...Maria lost herself in the ruins of civilization." Even though it says she, "became a victim as surely she as if she had died on that first attack." It never states that she was actually killed.

2. Myrrah is the Locust Queen's name. Maria in Hebrew is Myrrah . Myrrah could also be a form of word used to sound like M-y-rr-ah like a Locust would try and sound out Maria.

The Locust could have captured her and brought her to their civilization on E-Day because they needed a leader. OR, they could be holding her captive as of now to gain intelligence about the humans whereabouts. Maria could be the one teaching them English. And how does the Locust Queen speak fluent English?

It also says in the magazine that "As the game begins, a piece of intel from Anya sends the estranged husband and his best friend Marcus to a hospital where she may have been sighted. Unsurprisingly, the Locust Horde chooses that inopportune moment to attack, and the battle unfolds." As soon as they arrive the Locust attack... Could they possibly be using her as bait as well? Or were they trying to protect her? Interesting stuff.

It's just a theory so don't bash me. I'm just almost certain it has to work out someway like this.

Wow, that's a really well thought out theory man, nice. That's really interesting actually, scince we have never actually seen the locust queen. Good theory, hope it's right because that would be one hell of a story.

You can see her at the very end of Gears 1 after killing RAMM.

You know... that's a really well thought out theory. My complements to you. It does make a lot of sense.

It also, however, means that there is no one queen, but she instead somehow jumps bodies (let us assume that the Locust are an advanced hive mind, but with the ability to act individually for the greater good of the Locust). We can also assume that the Queen always exists, as in, they always have a queen. Maybe Maria became the queen after the original one, or, rather, the original body died.

While that is a good theory I doubt that is what is really going on, because you have to remember this is Cliffy B. and Epic that we are talking about, and neither have ever come up with a good or original story and for them to actually give even two thoughts to the plot would amaze me.

That's pretty much what I was thinking.

Lets lay the facts on the table...
http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/9.60109
he seems to think that maria (Dom's wife) is the locust queen..
now we have no evidence to prove his point wrong..he has no reason to really prove his point
here's my reason
: Dom doesn't express the emotional statue that lets say Marcus does
: If Maria is Dom's wife then they they would have know each before E-DAY meaning Dom's wife must have been human or else Dom's keeping a secret...
:If the locust could mutate humans into locust then they would keep doing so it doesn't say anything about human mutation:

Good Moogly, good. See there was no reason to start a new thread. Although there's no reason to link the thread you're already on.

Eh, it is a very well thought out theory - but chances are, it was just a wording mishap and it's just your regular ol' "aliens gun' kill us!" story, but I'm not saying your theory isn't likely.

This is interesting and I must state my joy that MGG made a decent post, after 198 tries.

I always found it odd how the locust have a queen, despite the fact that the bereserkers (female) are incapable of doing anything but running head on into a wall.

I think maria has become a puppet or figure head for the "hive mind" of the locust. She is controlled or manipulated by the locust leader to speak for it. I think this makes more sense than having maria for an unknown reason boss the locust around.

Having only scanned until this line I felt the flames of troll killing licking at me. Rsponses like "And the letter mARIa are in the word conspIRAcy in reverse order. OMG. Perhaps a grand conspiracy by the ARIAs to support the cause of liberating Ireland with homicidal Locusts?" Then I read the other sentences and saw your theory is quite reasonable. Damn you for ruining my fun.

Hey Saskwach, give the guy a break man. Anyways, OP, seems reasonable. Good theory, though the lack of information at the moment really makes it so we can;t refute or support your theory. Ah well, good work.

The question that raises is "Why Her?". Why not just kill her like everyone else?

(I'll point out now that I never played GoW, but I read about it a lot. Sorry if my argument is invalid)

I forgot that gears of war had a story.
haha, jokes.

But in some seriousness, GoW's story really left ALOT to the imagination. In a game where everyone lost their family, I didn't know I was supposed to be attention to Dom's. I was too busy trying to figure out if it was just coincedence, or poor story telling that linked marcus fenix to practically EVERYTHING that was going on. His dad had mapped out all the locust tunnels? and who the fuck had been feeding him in that cell of his?

It was a joke. I was poking fun at myself more than him.
