6'43" = 9'7" is quite a bit taller than the world's highest person. Average male height in Norway is 5'11.5". You probably don't know any people below 6 feet, because you can't see them.OniaPL said:Is 6'11 really that tall, or are scandinavians just tall people by nature? Nah, I'm too nerdy for my own good.Graham_LRR said:Yeah, but I didn't feel like further confusing the issue. You're totally right though.008Zulu said:Slight "Nerd Correction", the sonic was used in the 1996 Doctor Who movie.
Eh, maybe I can't just wrap my head around these units.Don Reba said:6'43" = 9'7" is quite a bit taller than the world's highest person. Average male height in Norway is 5'11.5". Also, why don't we use proper units, like metres and centimetres?
6'11" means 6 feet, 11 inches. There are 12 inches in a foot. 6'11" is 210.8 cm [http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=6%2711%22+in+cm]. So, if you are 196 cm high, Bill is 15 cm higher than you. Here is how tall he is, compared to everyone else at LRR: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10150640667096732&set=a.10150640667091732.391825.297238451731OniaPL said:Eh, maybe I can't just wrap my head around these units.
According to the converter I used, 6'4 is about 196 cm while 6'1 is about 182 cm. But if this is not the case, then just disregard my comment.
And yes, the metric system is awesome![]()
Ahh, that clarifies a lot, thanks. I knew that a foot is about 30cm, but I always assumed that 6'4 would be something like 6.4 feet. Heh, well, now I know.Don Reba said:6'11" means 6 feet, 11 inches. America is definitely late to the party in that regard. The metric system is 1000 times superior (see what I did there?), although switching everyone to the metric system would be a bit like saying everyone needs to drive on the left side of the road - very confusing for people to initially get used to. I hope they at least teach primarily with the metric system in schools.OniaPL said:Ahh, that clarifies a lot, thanks. Sorry, but the U.S system is slightly hard to grasp for me.
But on topic, damn, that's tall. Makes me slightly jealous.
