Yeah, people going on about their warcraft escapades are rather tedious, and I'm pretty good at the whole spelling and grammar lark but grammar Nazis still really annoy me.

I can't think of anything else at the moment really. You summed it up.
Yeah have to agree that getting corrected in general is annoying. Do people really believe that by nit picking some one's statements that person will instantly recognize them as the superior individual? It either has to be that or there is some jerk contest I am not aware of.

I'm going to school to retrieve a masters degree in English and I still despise 'grammar nazi's'. Why would anyone expect everyone to be perfect at the written language?

The one aspect of geek culture I hate above all else is defensive fanboys. Of anything. In my personal opinion it's the Sony fanboys who are the worst, but only very slightly beating the Apple fanboys, with the Xbox fanboys in a close third.

Those dog machines that you can control. There are so annoying. I mean they're cool but just annoying at the same time.

I guess Role-Playing Board games, I just can't get into it to save my life and the RPG video game genre is one of my favorites.
One of them did require me to play one to save my life... That's why I am talking to you from the fiery pits of cremation.

I think being really ott when talking about games is the worst thing, things like "OMG! Last night it was so awesome when I was playing an fps last night and I BLEW THIS HUGE FRIGGIN' TANK UP!", my friend said this to me before and we were on a bus, people must have thought we were crazy since he was talking really loudly about blowing stuff up.

It's just embarassing when people get really over excited because it's the equivalent of "OMG! you should have seen the huge TROUT I caught fishing last weekend it was AWEEEEEEEESOME!" so embarassing *cringes*.

I hate:
1. People who don't elaborate about stuff they hate on forums.
2. People who hate on anime for no apparent reason.
3. People who are hypocritical, like this arse who says he hates anime yet has a picture of Ash from Pokemon as his avatar.

4. Unrelated from the previous 3, I also DISLIKE (not hate) people who do everything possible (knowingly or not) to reinforce the stereotype about geeks/nerds.
Like dressing like this in public:

Or wearing a "that shirt is too small for your oversized body" fanboy t-shirt. I have a problem with girls who wear their shirts too short (say no to crack!) so I definitely don't want to see yours!

On second thought, I DO hate people with so little fashion sense they don't even let their mother (who they obviously still live with) dress them.

Hey, I love geeky stuff too, we're all nerds here, but there must be one aspect of it that your hate.

Do you like LARPing? If not, post it. Cause now I wish I'd put that in my first post, its the wierdest shit I have ever seen.

I hate the way the super geeks in the comics store stop their warhammer game and stare when I enter the store. Am I the only woman who gets this reaction? Maybe it's just that one store. Either way it's creepy.
Just your store. Or they just realised what that mythical beast the 'woman' looks like. My nearest comic store's run by a lady, so none of that here.
This whole reaction concept bugs the hell out of me. I get that your first time talking to a woman can be scary but damnit you were 8 years old! Get over it! Nothing gets to me worse than having to deal with stupid freaky dumb (insert other words here im running out of breath) geeks who stare and drool.

Especially with the advent of the internet where we have more than enough resources on "picking up" and "being a decent lover" etc.

I hate world of warcraft. Its so boring and i hate the people who are ALWAYS on it and never ever leave the world of gaming. But other things like just general gaming are fun so why are people who like that negatively stereotyped? I know quite a few people who are on the football team and stuff (british football) and they would be seen as cool or whatever by a lot of people but theyre on COD4 every night, it just doesnt make sense.

Embrace the stereotype! Where's my pocket protector?!
Precisely! Denying it just makes you look awkward, and it's much less fun to hide the things you enjoy doing.
I don't deny I'm a geek, but I don't fit the stereotype. I see no need to embrace the image of the bespectacled perma-virgin when I used to play varsity football (American). I don't want to embrace the stereotype that I have no interests beyond the geeky when I also have a keen interest in boxing. Why should I embrace a stereotype that I don't actually fit?

Live Action Roleplaying. It basically grown men dressing up as elves and trolls and hitting each other with wooden swords and shouting spells at each other.
