I wouldn't mind it so much if lectures/people weren't telling me I'm spelling it wrong when I'm not. Punctuation really isn't a strong point of mine.....But, yeah I'll admit to being selectively proud. Because the UK culture at the moment seems something I steer very clear of.OuroborosChoked said:It seems ironic that you'd get bothered about the spelling of sulfur, but you can't be bothered to punctuate correctly. Just selectively proud, then?sms_117b said:Short hand being spoken, there's no need, my sister uses it, she's not even a geek
Elitism amongst gamers
carrying on about their modded game, I really don't care how you've made a good game better
L.A.Z.E.R, this isn't a spelling thing as such, but that pisses me right off, L.A.S.E.R is a acronym "Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation".......argh!
10^9 is not a billion and 10^12 is not a trillion
Sulphur doesn't have a "f"
Sorry if those last few seem to be aimed at America I'm a science and math student and constantly being told by a few lectures otherwise it does my nut, I'm a proud Englishman
Seriously, all you English-types who get all bothered that someone else does it differently from you? Get a life. You aren't the world anymore. The empire is gone. It's time to find a new hobby (I mean, other than literally hounding your celebrities to death).
I agree...about everything you just said.PedroSteckecilo said:Actually I just hate Warhammer, well, I specifically hate their extortion pricing, and self reinforcing stupid rules that revolve around spending money. I don't think the players have no lives, hell, my little brother plays warhammer and I know he has a life, why should other Warhammer players be any different?Neosage said:See what I mean..... everyone automatically assume WH players have no lives!
Basically, I hate the game, not the players, well, not all the players, I hate some players, but then again, I hate certain people in every hobby.
I hope you're being sarcastic, seeing as your display pic is from an anime cartoon hahaSaitken said:Anime
It depends; if you're American, then I may let you get away with the American spelling, otherwise...Richard Groovy Pants said:Ah! I win this round Lukeje!runtheplacered said:Esthetically is actually just an alternate spelling for aesthetically, although the latter is usually the one that's used.

It was pritty fucking embarrasing, and I was good mates with usually so I couldn't really tell him to piss off.
yeah i agree with you on the grammar monkeys. I`m a frenchy so my english is out the damned windowSomeBritishDude said:I'm going to go straight ahead and assume that everyone reading this post is a geek (unless your lost on the way to porn or bebo). Oviously, there are plenty of hobbies and activitys that surround us nerds i.e. Comic Books, Video Games, RPGs ect. And theres also a lot of things that geeks do that issolate us from the normal people.
But anyway, what is main geeky thing you hate? What is the part of our culture that really gets under your skin?

Another thing that annoys the hell out of me is people correcting my gramma and spelling on forums. Im dislexic and often have to edit my post 3 or 4 times before they make them perfect so its pritty embarrasing when someone calls you out on it.
Pshaw, I don't understand the stigma, I would LARP if I could, and if I knew the group I was LARPing with was into it for the reason I am (character acting and costumes, I loves me some character acting and costumes, and in a LARPing environment, I don't have to stand on a stage and freak out).Girlysprite said:As a non english person, when people suddenly start to mix whole english sentences in their speech, while it isn't needed. This often happens in the rpg crowd, using sound bites from popular series or books.
btw...for the larp hater...I larpBut there are a lot of misunderstandings about larp folks. I guess larpers are the new DnD'ers when it comes to bad image.
