And I think the reason folks hate LARP is that the thought of grown folks swinging foam swords around is a bit ridiculous.

Tell me you Star Wars fans didn't have lightsabre battles when you bought one. Tell me you Halo fans haven't got a Master Chief figure on your desktop.
If we're talking geeky traits, I really doubt that anyone here can plead innocence.

But when you think about it, isn't Airsofting and paintball kind of the same thing as LARPing?

Totally, as is acting, kareoke, or when you throw a paperball into a bin and start screaming "YESSSSS!"

I hate the way the super geeks in the comics store stop their warhammer game and stare when I enter the store. Am I the only woman who gets this reaction? Maybe it's just that one store. Either way it's creepy.

My girlfriend once went into a Warhammer shop to buy a present for my younger brother, but none of the staff would come to the counter to serve her, they just kept on playing their game. She asked them for help but they pretended they couldn't hear her, eventually after getting loud and angry a very nervous staff member served her.

She swears they just ignored her because she was a girl.

It was the creepy silence as I was perusing the shelves for Battle Royale, and I'd never venture into games workshop. *shudder* That place is super creepy and dark, and it smells funny.

Why all the hate on anime?

It's different, it's foreign, it's Japanese, it has too many big eyes, creepy characters, girls with strange obsessions, yadda yadda yadda. If they're not stereotyping Japan, they're stereotyping anime because of a few things they don't like.

First: If you're going to say you hate anime, PROVIDE A DAMN GOOD REASON WHY!
Second: Watch the first episode of Black Lagoon first, THEN continue your rant. If you're going to rant on how anime sucks, you may as well watch a good anime first to level your opinion.
