Gender Definition, and why we still need Freud

I was looking at another post entitled something like 'Can you overlook gender?', and a thought popped into my magnificent skull: what about those of us who enjoy not-quite-defined genders? I'm looking at things like futanari, mostly (something I'm actually quite into, despite being completely heterosexual in a practical sense), as well as the male/female-centric hermaphrodites a few of my furry friends are engrossed by.

My question, really, is this: what does liking these sort of things say about you? What possible connections are there in the human mind behind liking creatures with genitalia that conflict with their secondary sex organs? As the subject says, this is why Freud should still be alive. That is, if even he could keep from having a heart attack from the idea.

Has there been any real study or theories on the importance, meaning, or background of futanari fetishes? I've checked for myself, and perhaps it's because it's worded differently, but I have yet to find any bona fide scientific research or psychological theories.

Also, as a last note, if somebody doesn't know what 'futanari' is, here ya go: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Futanari (NSFW, but only slightly)

Aren't you mixing up "sex" and "gender?" Just because someone of one sex has the organs of the other doesn't mean they mentally or socially identify as someone of that gender.

Perhaps the attraction to futanari is the fact that not only do they have a vagina, but they also share the same organ as you do, and you know what it feels like to use yours... So you can somehow understand what kind of pleasure they may be feeling...

Well, half of it is just plain sexual attraction, but a good portion is ignorance. Not saying some ignorance is not unexpected or even wrong, but still. Ofcourse, being what I am, perception of gender is a big deal. =.=

I never liked Futanari or anything like that to begin with. If I want guy parts, I'll get a relationship with a guy. If I want girl parts, I'll get a relationship with a girl. I'd rather not date some kind of biological mix-up.

Of course, I don't know any people like that (would they be transexuals?), so who knows.

The thing is, I don't like male parts at all. Real life, I like vaginas, and can't stand seeing real penis (penii?). It's just in anime that futanari appeal to me, and that part also intrigues me.

My personal theory is a connection between empathy and removing the part of the relationship I dislike; I don't like seeing men in a porn, but lesbian sex also bores me. Men, as a rule, seem to be to be boorish, disgusting, and overly stupid characters that need to be removed from the picture in question, while the women are (for the most part) the better parts. However, being raised in a purely heterosexual environment, I'm more comfortable with sex between two contrasting sets of sexual organs. It's the aversion to males combined with the desire for heterosexual representation that makes futanari interesting for me. At least, I think so.

Well, I'm not the person to watch porn to begin with. Whatever floats your boat, I guess.

You know, that's a good view to take. Whatever floats your boat. It implies a lack of interest in someone else's opinions, and that's something the internet needs more of. Other people's opinions are not- what was the term, oh yeah- serious business. They are opinions, they are preferences, and they are peculiar to the individual expressing them.

At the same time, most of us have an emotional reaction to certain things. Some of us feel uneasy when faced with domestic violence, others find it arousing. Some have too see it before they'll get up in the morning. But the most important point is, none of these views are 'wrong'. It's the people who try and force an opinion on others that are wrong, and they're getting nothing from it.

Sorry, this was basically a big tangent, considering the original topic. So with that in mind, are there any others theories besides mine, as deep and likely accurate as it is?
