And in some cases, a world that still rebels. I for one hail anonymous, not because they are cyber-terrorists, or hackers, internet black-knights or whatever they might want to call themselves, but because they are the unknown face of a generation of youngsters, protesting in the way they know how.Legion said:Good luck to him. I wonder in time, if anonymous will be compared to say the hippie movement. Now dont jump at my throat, protesting war and murder is not exactly immediately comparable to the war on pirates...but there is a lot more stuff going on in this slice of the world than one should think. And I am glad that we are not without the anons![]()
I kinda envisioned a helium fuelled squeaky Napoleon in that sentence. I just find each groups "assaults" a bit of a joke really; it's just going back to our natural animal instinct of clubbing someone over the head because he's "not one of us" and while I'm sure it'll always be more complex than that, to what extent does it lead to? That's something I'm not sure a lot of people can answer, myself included.EHKOS said:I want to see anonymous crushed. They had their chance to become a force to be reckoned with. When I used to go to 4chan I tried to start a revolution. They had their chance, let's see 4chan shut down and Gene Simmons rape ever single one.
This is what I was thinking. Anonymous are a bunch of Internet terrorists I'd enjoy seeing torn apart, and Gene Simmons is taking things WAY too far with the anti-piracy.lacktheknack said:Is there any way that both can lose? Please?
im all for downloading music (who here has the cash to buy EVERY SINGLE SONG that they like? as for me, i dont have more than 3000 dollars on hand at all times)King Toasty said:President Longcat would be a wise and truthful leader.Azaraxzealot said:sigh.... it has nothing to do with any of THAT, what it DOES have to do with is that Trolls have too much power. since the world practically runs on computers, and people like these trolls have clearly demonstrated that they can destroy any computer network they want, i worry that if they just keep being allowed to do what they do without regulation, we could see our next president being a lolcat...viper3 said:Thanks for the Fox News edition there, coming up next: How communism was the "terrorism" of the 50's.Azaraxzealot said:finally... someone's sticking up to these internet terrorists.
and im glad its Gene Simmons \m/ YEAH! ROCKERS DON'T TAKE THIS SHIT!
OT: Yeah, Anonymous isn't really a threat. They're just expressing free speech, which culminates in the form of anti-Scientology. Sure, they shouldn't be downloading music, but are YOU gonna stop them?
So piracy is evil but rape is totally okay. Good work there.Second, they might find their little butts in jail, right next to someone who's been there for years and is looking for a new girl friend.
Do you mean Bleach or is this more plagiarism I haven't heard of? Because I remember seeing the side-by-sides of his art [http://community.livejournal.com/bleachness/446299.html] and Tite Kubo's and there's characters that are basically redrawn/retraced panels of Kenpachi and Orihime with... er... bleached hair. (And a bunch of other dubious stuff.)Mordwyl said:Says the man whose son blatantly plagiarised one of the trinity manga for his own.
But piracy hurts his bank balance and rape is something that happens to other people. So it's OK.Danzaivar said:So piracy is evil but rape is totally okay. As am I. While I respect Anonymous's noble attempts, such as "Cheer Up Keanu" day, for the most part Anonymous is a terrible, terrible thing. I hope Mr. Simmons succeeds.Legion said:Good luck to him. I am getting sick of this "Don't mess with Anonymous" fear that so many people seem to feel.
this is basically what "i" was trying to say before people assumed i was a fox news junkie who got a hard-on whenever someone says "Obama is a socialist"The Austin said:As am I. Agreed. Anon has hacked peoples' bank accounts because they think it's funny.Azaraxzealot said:this is basically what "i" was trying to say before people assumed i was a fox news junkie who got a hard-on whenever someone says "Obama is a socialist"The Austin said:As am I. this is why internet trolls should really suffer... it's not that i want to see piracy be taken away (i rather like not having to make life decisions when i want to listen to the latest Megadeth album) i want them to stop abusing their power and taking down anyone who slightly angers them... because that makes them dangerous in more ways than one
He's after Lars Ulrich's crown and King Prick. Seriously, you did perfectly fine before with music piracy, where people taped songs off the radio and copied albums for their friends, you'll be fine now. All bands know it's live shows that get the money in.Worgen said:well so much for liking simmons, he sounds like a pretty big dick
Heh, there is irony in putting a face to anon members, but I'd say they stop being a part of anonymous when they are no longer anonymous.BabySinclair said:As for his war against anon, supposedly getting a few hackers (or internet terrorists) is more than most but he has to find the big ones with the FBI's help, they're the only people anon will probably not try to mess with. If anon tries the FBI they'll find out what a multi-million dollar a year cyber defense and crime lab can do, which boils down to bending anon over with a cactus. Should he not get the help of a major cyber organization he will fail miserably though I do like his promise to publicly reveal the identity of caught anon members, certain poetry to that.
I do love how people are shoving this to extremes. Everyone says he's going to go after people who download one or two songs. MAYBE that is the case, but don't you think he'll go after distributors, MASS pirates, and the other people doing this on a mass scale before he goes after people that pirate one or two songs?Torrasque said:^The Long Road said:In other news, the United States is still hunting terrorists in Afghanistan nine years later.
Seriously, it's the same thing. He has incredible might behind him, but anon can hide all over the internet. The idiots might get caught, but the smart ones can bounce their IP all over the world and either become untraceable or make tracing them so complicated and difficult that they won't bother. And that's if he gets the legal grounds to trace them, which is a dubious proposition at the very best.
Personally, I want to see Anonymous sap him of lots of money and energy before he finally throws up his hands and gives up. I think Gene Simmons is head and shoulders better than most in the entertainment business, but anyone who declares war on Anonymous is basically chewing on the business end of a shotgun. Anon FTW.
The funny thing is he thinks he is going after a set number of people.
Pretty sure if he knew what Anon was, he'd re-think his words.
