World hunger isn't an issue of not being able to produce or effectively distribute enough food. It's an issue with capitalism. We have nothing to gain by feeding the masses in poor countries.
It's not just capitalism, although that a massive part of it. A related issue is what's called Food Security - ensuring your nation's continuing food supply is protected, and in capitalist societies that means ensuring farming remains economically viable for enough producers to give national self-sufficiency in staple foods. Food Security is the backbone for the Agricultural policies of most nations, either attaining or maintaining it... and has been the cause of several trans-Atlantic 'trade wars'.
