No matter how many times you've tried.

For me it has to be JRPG's.
From Final Fantasy and it's awful cutesy animé stylings to the Nippon Ichi style, which admittedly are beautifully rendered. I just cannot get into the random battles, especially FFXII which pissed me off no end, and the generally god awful childish Americanised voice work. Today I picked up Eternal Sonata which seems more of the same but is a lot better with the Japanese vocals and I will keep at this one because the story actually seems quite intriguing if nothing else about it is. We shall see.
I love the idea of these games more than the actual execution of the games.

My one exception to the rule is Dragon Quest: JotCK, which has some great voice work and a stunning art style, but once it stopped holding my hand it and left you to it I kind of got lost and don't know where to go...

Hack & Slash and most Fighter games.

This means I dislike God of War, Street Fighter, Prototype, Infamous, and will probably dislike the gameplay for Brutal Legend. Haha, take that!

Also, a part of me doesn't even include sports games in the actual video game pool. So there's another genre I can't get into, I guess.

I'm a renaissance gamer. I can get into any genre as long as it's good.

Oh wait, except sports games, BORING!

I used to like JRPG's, but now it's really hard to get into them. =\

First Person Shooters and Racing games. Although I did enjoy Burnout Revenge a lot.

sports games. I am not a sports fan. The only game that could be under this banner that I did get into was the Burnout series though I believe sport and racing games are considered seperated

War. I can play first person shooters and the like, but war games just aren't my cup of coffee.

I didn't like JRPGs for a long time either, and I agree that random battles in the FF series are annoying, but now I'm starting to get a bit more into them. Not FF, per say, but the genre.

Have you seen Infamous?

There's neither hacking nor slashing in that game.

No, I pretty much like all genres. Some much more than others. JRPGs are probably my least favourite.

Either way, I think it's very boring. There's no strategy, no skill, no depth. If I was a jerk, I'd say those three things are absent in all H&S games.

Agreed. The burnout series is fun just cause all it is is crashing. Yeah, races as well, but you get points for making your rivals crash. Sports games are fun if you're a sports fan, like sketers and Skate 2, but if you're not then they just seem silly. That and I don't know what most of the terms mean.

Sports games, most specifically, football games. Maybe it's because I'm not really into football at all, but I just can't see the attraction in playing a game of football, or any other "real world" sport in a game.

I play my games to do something I could never do in real life, like say, use a jetpack to land on top of a building and wack a sniper in the face with a large hammer, or you know, something else totally preposterous, like balancing on the wing of a jet fighter.

If I wanted to play a game of football, I'd go outside and do it for real.

At the risk of sounding like I just hopped on the nearest bandwagon, I will say JRPGs.

I just can't stand the characters or thier stupid hair.
