Genuinly surprised there aren't more 3DS threads.

Two reasons:

A) 90% of the Escapist only own a 360 or a PC. Anything else instantly sucks.

B) It's still not out in America. And thus if it isn't out in America it doesn't exist.


I'm personally loving it. Took a while to get used to the 3D but even with the sweet spot it's pretty easy to get into it. The stuff that came with it (Face Raiders and Augment Cards) are great for lil bursts. I got Street Fighter with it despite wanting Samurai Warriors (only reason was that most stores didn't stock it and the one that did was charging a tenner more than the rest of the games) and it's pretty fun.

Battery Life is surprisingly long considering its what everyone is bitching about (of course very little of these people actually own the thing) It's only the first play that gives you about an hour (doesn't even come half charged)

I'm waiting until there's some decent games, nothing at the moment justifies me buying one. Looking forward to Ocarina of Time and MGS mostly.

Played SSF4 on it at my friends. Laughed at how stupid it was, and awkwardly hard to control. Banned it from my life.

The system. Couldn't care less about it. It looks... okay. The 3D thing is neat at first, but it's nothing mindblowing. The controls on SSF4 pissed me off and I really can't see myself ever whipping that out anywhere and playing it for any reason. The only reason I would even consider getting one is for the new SMT game.

Like many have said I wouldn't trust the controls to be judged based on what are essentially 'test apps'. And yes I do extend that to include SSF4, anything this early on pretty much deserves the label.

Look at the PS3's launch. Heavenly Sword was considered the 'proper' release header, and looking back on it today... it was actually quite crap.

Heavenly Sword was released almost a year after the PS3. You're probably thinking of Resistance.

OT: A few reviews are out, and most launch games are apparently (gasp!) crap, like 90% of launch games in the history of console gaming. I'll probably never get a 3DS, since I've been using my DS almost exclusively as an alarm clock since September. *If* I get a new portable system, it'll probably be either an iPod Touch or an NGP. And I'm 100% certain I won't buy an NGP at launch.

It hurts my eyes. X_X Thank god I can turn the 3D off. I'll wait for the new Pokemon in 2 years to get it. I'm sure there's gonna be some sort of limited edition 3ds or something. There always is.
