While I obviously agree that this is a fail of epic proportions, comparing Bild to N-TV is inaccurate. Bild's whole concept is to make every single headline as lurid as possible.

Dude, that's obvious. Which one is sillier: a mistake causes a broadcast to imply that a fictional terrorist organization from the future killed Bin Laden or a typo along with some speculated information gives a scewed impression of an actual incident with the wrong name (boy, that's a typo though...)

You're right, though. People shouldn't say Germany is silly because of one broadcast, just like America shouldn't be labeled stupid just because some very deranged people actually listen to and believe everything reported on Fox News. You generalized us by saying Fox News is "all America", while others have been generalizing Germany by saying their silly. It happens.

Also, I don't think racist really applies here. Race isn't actually a thing, but by definition Americans and Germans are the same one.
