I did read it. I think if the game was done well it'd be famous. None have really ever been done well though, or just include an Allied campaign to make you feel happy.TheNamlessGuy said:"Read the EDIT, darn it", he said while furiously jumping up and downKillerMidget said:I would actually enjoy playing as the losers. Even an epic campaign right from the invasion of Poland and up to your character's surrender, escape or tragic demise at the end, in a massive, singleplayer campaign. God that'd be awesome.TheNamlessGuy said:As someone said before:
No one wants to play as the loosers
EDIT: What I mean by this is that there are a lot of games, but the others are more famous.
I should think and re-read before I post
The Blitzkreig games do something akin to that, but they're an RTS so it's not as personal or close-up.
I still have it, although now when I'm actually old enough to have fun with it my bloody archaic PC has decided it won't run it. I liked the theoretical campaign with the attempts to bomb New York.Fat Man Spoon said:There was this one game for the PC I had, and you could play the Russian, British, German and American campaigns, and damn, was it fun!
The German Campaign was good, as you had control over a bunch of Panzers and a Tiger, against an entire British Armoured patrol.
It was called: "Soldiers: Heroes of WWII", and I recommend it, it's a damn fine RTS style game.
Yes he is, might not hurt to mention that his country wants to take control of Europe, Africa and Russia by force whilst simultaneously exterminating/starving out all Gypsies, Disabled people mentally and physically, Russians, a good chunk of Poles and of course those pesky Jews.Dazza5897922 said:People are too easily offended.
You are not playing a nazi, you are playing a german soldier fighting for hs country.
Yeah, I'd love for my Laptop to run it now, because now I have an understanding of tactics.KillerMidget said:I still have it, although now when I'm actually old enough to have fun with it my bloody archaic PC has decided it won't run it. I guess a soldier willing to fight and die for his country is only considered heroic when he hails from an allied nation, huh?fix-the-spade said:Perhaps people do get offended to easily, but it's pretty offensive to paint someone who's willing to die for those values as a hero fighting for his country. At best it comes across as misguided.
And? How does that change what he (the soldier) is standing for in the slightest? Especially when he's defending what he gained by attacking first.Dazza5897922 said:Soldiers are not politicions, they join the army because it's a job and to fight for their country's defence.
Idiocy of history I suppose, the winning side writes history and in this case the winning side is not the one that struck first.Kermi said:I guess a soldier willing to fight and die for his country is only considered heroic when he hails from an allied nation, huh?
They tryed to exterminate Homosexuals and Communists as well.fix-the-spade said:Yes he is, might not hurt to mention that his country wants to take control of Europe, Africa and Russia by force whilst simultaneously exterminating/starving out all Gypsies, Disabled people mentally and physically, Russians, a good chunk of Poles and of course those pesky Jews.Dazza5897922 said:People are too easily offended.

My Bet: Banned in Germany, too many swastikas and "an inaccurate depiction of the German people."Jonci said:Isn't one releasing this year where you play the Germans?
EDIT: I can't remember the name, but I think it was being developed by a German studio, too.
Always possible. It only stuck in my head because the article I read mentioned how odd it was for a German studio to make a WW2 game, where you were the German forces, considering Germany's obsessive denial that WW2 ever occured.Jark212 said:My Bet: Banned in Germany, too many swastikas and "an inaccurate depiction of the German people."Jonci said:Isn't one releasing this year where you play the Germans?
