Ok, so I have spent something like 70 hours on L4D2. I bought it like a week or two after release, so I have been playing pretty much constantly since then.

Recently, I got into EVE online and Gmod(again!). My L4D2 play time has dropped massively, and so has my L4D2 SDK usage.

I still love L4D2, but I mean, I have 21 days in EVE to save enough isk to pay for game time and my friend just got a Gmod server, so I have not been playing much.

Also, I have found recently that most L4D2 servers are either full of whiney noobs, or have a really bad connection.

What I need is something - a goal, an interesting point I forgot, anything - to get me back into L4D2. I still have loads of achievements to get (I have 25 of 50), and I reckon in building skills there is another 50 hours in there for me at least. But I need something else. I am really not sure...I am still interested, but I have no motivation.


So, I ask you, the escapist community, to save me from this L4D2 depression. Give me motivation to play it again, a reason to the madness.

Failing that, recommend other games you like.

I usually like single player games in the platform/action/FPS genres, but can sway either way. I also like RPGs, sometimes. The likes of Fallout = winners but for me, final fantasy = losers.

well, download some mods or play on those 16-man versus servers.

I hate those servers...because of the game's silly server selection setup (IE, you can't), it throws them at you randomly and slams them into your face. It takes like 2 minutes to realise that the UI is not glitched and that there are, in fact, 16 players. It then takes another 10 minutes for you to make it out of the safe room because:

a) So many clipped players that moving is difficult
b) THE FUCKING LAG CREATED BY HOLDING 16 PLAYERS ON ONE NORMAL SERVER

Seriously. Dumbass mod. No offence if you like them.


However, mods are a good idea. I have a few installed, and was creating my own before I lost motivation. PC gamer also just released a "Best 10 L4D mods" in their last issue, so I shall take a look.

I'm sorry but there is no real reason to play a game other than bring you joy and entertainment, and if you need some other "reason" to play it, well then its obviously not fulfilling its function as fun. Also just because you want to play another game more doesn't mean anything besides you enjoy that game more. Go do what you enjoy doing, and don't waste forum space with your whiny little problems that make you sound like a fat pathetic guy who lives in his parents basement who's only goal in life is to beat games.
