1. I'd go for Bonnie Portmore. It's a song of mourning for the loss of the oak forests of Ireland, but it's deeper meaning is about the loss of Irish culture in general. The bagpipes at the beginning really set the tone.
2. Fast Car by Tracy Chapman. Hope dashed at every turn, very sad song.
Movie: Schindler's List would have to top it for me. You don't get much sadder than the megalomaniacally inspired murder of millions of people.
Play: Death of a Salesman is a very sad play. I cannot honestly recall one good thing that happens to anyone in that play

Video Game: Aside from sad *moments* in games, I've never really played a game that was sad *overall*.
RPG: Call of Cthulhu. Nothing you do will stop the eventual domination of mankind by forces beyond it's comprehension, much less it's control. Oh, and you're going to go insane, too. Slowly.
