Getting a 360 - What games?

I'm getting an Xbox 360 in the next month or so and wondered if there are any game recommendations apart from:

Halo 3
Halo Wars
Mirrors Edge
COD 4 / 5

Mass Effect (MUST BUY!!!!!)
Rock Bands 1 & 2

That should be it maybe.

Or you can buy CoD 4 and skip Halo entirely.

Not that Halo's bad... CoD4 is just better in every conceivable way.

Also, CoD:World at War is a bit more of an acquired taste.

And Fallout 3 and Gears 2 should definitely be on your list.

I haven't seen any Bioshock recommendations yet, so Bioshock first, then Orange Box. Orange Box is really the best value you will find for the system.

Definitely up there. Both gears of War games. Bioshock, Orange box, Fallout three, Mass Effect, Assassins Creed. Cod4. Halo 3 is good. As is left 4 dead.

I'm kinda in the same boat, and I'm getting Fable 2 (RPG), Oblivion(RPG) and Banjo Kazooie Nuts & Bolts (umm...drivingy fun?) so if you want something other than an FPS those could be good...

Certainly one of the best... a slightly technically flawed masterpiece with the most engrossing story I've seen in a game.

Gears 2, Fallout 3 Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter, best game to play splitscreen with friends (When you play GRAW1, and you want to win get the LMG, doesn´t matter which one a good bullet hose always gets the job done in that game)

I urge you not to buy Fable II, unless you can find it for half price or less, it's just not worth it. And this is coming from an admin of a Fable 2 forum.
