Getting more readers for a blog

I've been writing a blog for just over a month now, and would really like to get some more readers, as i do a fair amount of promoting for some friends businesses.

What tools could i use to promote it and get some more readers?

Honesly you have to advertise. Pay sites to put up your banner and such for the most part it is really hard getting started on things like this because you need somthing to hook people and keep them so your blog has to be really entertaining.

Just about any site since thats how most stay afloat. The money you pay them to have your ads ussually goes to keeping there site running so you should just go to a related site and ask them if they want to put your ads up
