Leasing a car in Canada is the same as finance on a car in the UK right. To be honest, If you have the funds to buy a car outright then i would go for that option, as someone (not sure who and am too lazy to scroll up) said in an earlier post leasing is lot more hassle. I know someone who leased her first car, it was 2 years old and roughly £6000 after 2 years and after only paying about £2000 off her first car she decided that she wanted a different one. she traded her old one in and got finance (or leased) the new one which is a Seat Ibiza at £7000. Now she she still has to pay the remaining £4000 for a car she nolonger has on top of the £7000 for the new car. Basically she s paying twice the amount than the actual car she has is worth.

Well from the list you have, I'd go for either the Mazda 3 or the Honda Civic. The Mazda 3 has a better fit and finish than the Civic, and the 3 sport version has more cargo space than the Civic Coupe version. Honda Civic has better fuel economy and is cheaper to repair. The Civic Coupe is hard to park, due to the 2 huge blindspots in the back, and it's difficult to get into the back seat, with limited leg room for tall people like myself.

Personal perferance tho, is if you want a coupe/hatch, go for a..

-2006 Mazada RX8.

You can get either for $10,000 loonies for manual (12.5k for auto). Both have good resale value, both have good reliability, both are rear wheel drive and have good power.

Than take the extra $8000 and fire it in a tax free account, just in case.

Aw my gal has been going for 250k strong... pretty sure she'll finally give out at 300k -.-
