I don't go to get my hair cut. I dislike going out, shelling out cash, and the small talk situation, so I trim my hair myself. Once every month or two (or three) I just buzz it off. I've gotten good enough at it that it only takes like 10 minutes (not including cleanup) and looks fairly good.

Since my hair is thicker than grizzly bear fur, I can't stand having it longer than 2 inches. But I don't like having it shorter than an inch. So I have a total of 4-5 weeks of growth before I have to get another cut. My cousin hairdresses out of her home so I get to visit with family everytime I go for a cut. Makes it not the most bothersome chore in the world.

My local barber/hairdresser's is just behind where my house is, and yet I still haven't gotten my hair cut, yet.

It's not overly long, but it's doing that annoying thing where it butterflies out from behind my neck.

Sometimes it looks okay, but my hair's very lively so it likes to stick out a lot. Back in secondary school I went through this strange long hair phase. I'm not tall, so I have no idea what I was thinking...then before my last year I got it cut REALLY short for shock value and it's been shortish ever since.

I also have a stupid beard which I can't be arsed to shave.

As an English short-haired breed, if I let it go more than a month I start looking like a homeless. No fashion sense doesn't exactly help, either.

I have what's apparantly called a "double crown", which basically means my hair looks like shit no matter what I do with it. When I was younger I used to get it cut short, just so it would take a long time before I had to have it done again. At some point during the regrowing period it would eventually reach a point where it would look like what I would hesitently describe as "ok."

For the last 4 years though I have let it grow longer than ever. I have had exactly 2 haircuts during that time, mainly due to upcoming job interviews (apparantly you need to look smart and neat or some shit or people won't employ you and then you don't get money and starve to death). It still looks like shit most of the time, and it's awful in the wind, but it saves me a ton of money on the extortionate haircut prices and I mostly now just don't give a shit how I look, so I prefer to keep it this way and have done with. It's also warm in the winter and I hate the cold.

I fucking hate my hair.

I love getting a haircut. I love the feeling when the short hairs in the back of my neck are so short they're fuzzy to the touch, and I absolutely love having a hair dresser fondle my hair. Ok, fondle is probably not the right word, but it sorta feels like it sometimes. Almost orgasmic. (Can I say that?) Also, my hairdresser knows what I like much better than I do; she's given me different styles every time and I've loved them all.
I like getting my hair cut for those same reasons. I don't get my hair cut often (last year I only got 2 haircuts) because my wife likes it when I'm kind of shaggy looking, but when I do get it cut, I go short because I like the way it feels. It's a lot easier in the morning too; I have a lot of hair.
As someone who "does" hair sometimes, I think fondle is the right word...especially if you're both enjoying yourselves. OP probably feels like he's being "groped." It depends on your perspective. I get really into cutting my wife's hair if she's having a good time with it too but sometimes (like if we're cutting a lot off), she gets a little nervous and just wants it done quickly. But I've found that most of the girls who refer to it as an "orgasmic" experience usually get a little buzzing done. I can see that, there are a lot of sensual nerve endings on the scalp.

I love getting my hair cut. The actual cutting is just something I need to get done, but the touching is what makes it enjoyable. Ever wonder why teenage girls braid each other's hair? Because it feels like HEAVEN. If my hairdresser's young and attractive I almost always get a little oxytocin-induced crush on her. It's a real pity there aren't more straight male hairdressers...

I love getting my hair brushed and played with. I'm like a pony.
Last time the hairdresser did a fab job and I felt great afterwards.
I think I'll go for a haircut on Friday actually.

Hair is important to me, if my hair looks good I can forget about my ugly face

Emmy you are beautiful so shut up...

But I agree. I LOVE getting my hair brushed and played with. I don't feel like a pony though. At the moment I'm growing my hair back out from practically chopping it all off and keeping it short all last year. So my hair makes me look like a little emo boy. Especially since I just dyed it dark burgandy again. Long hair bothers me but I want my hair long for haunt this year so I can do my foxtail dye job on it.

I don't mind it. I've been going to the same place for the past few years and it's fine. Everyone is really friendly, I'm usually in there 10-15 minutes tops and that's it so it's not exactly a chore. I find it difficult to find a place I like so, even though I moved out the area 18 months ago, I have family that live there so stop by the hair dressers when I visit and my hair needs cutting.

I know this is silly, but I cut my own hair. It all started in 3rd year University when i was working from when I woke up until about 2 - 4am every single day (even weekends) all semester. So I just went and bought a hair cut kit and tried to do it myself. I figured I'd seen them do it dozens of times in the mirror, I could figure it out. It's actually pretty easy when you have short hair.

My hair is shoulder length, and I try and get my hair cut every six to eight weeks, depending on how busy I am. I also detest having long hair as I found it really tiresome to maintain. That, and I work in a laboratory, so it is probably better to have your hair fairly short, or at least fairly easy to tie back. I don't mind getting my hair cut, the hairdressers I go to are friends of my mother, so it is quite a nice atmosphere.

Did the long hair thing in High School.
A lot of maintenance for nothing. Looked like a rapist on my old driver's license.

Keep it short nowadays, and not just because I'm balding in my early twenties. That just makes it easier...
My hope is that I'll just end up thin like my father, instead of completely bald like my uncle...

Used to let my hair grow out a bit, have a haircut about 4 times a year.

Now I have buzzcut and shave my head every 2-3 weeks. I don't mind really, when it's this short it's ridiculously easy to maintain.

Also, I've estimated to have saved about eleventy trillion pounds on shampoo.
You know what, I will go and give myself a the 1 mm treatment right now!

I can't be bothered with haircuts. I tend to have a few inches off every so often, but even that is increasingly rare these days. That said my hair is reaching a length that is becoming cumbersome. It is currently about half way down my back, which means it gets in the way on the back of chairs, coats, backpacks etc.

Also, as a male individual with long hair, I seem to garner quite a lot of verbal abuse from strangers including such remarks as "He looks like a fucking girl." (spoken to his friend, deliberately loud enough for me to hear as I passed them), "Are you a girl or a boy?" (drive-by derision from two girls riding bikes), and "Get a fucking haircut." (common among those in cars driving past or stopped at a pedestrian crossing I'm using, for some reason). Rather than encouraging me to conform to these intolerant people's standards, it only induces the urge to cause physical damage to them or their property. I will never understand the reasoning behind insulting a complete stranger, unprovoked. The insults themselves are weak, but the intent to insult is upsetting.

I may have gone on something of a tangent there...

I'm in college right now, but I live with my mom, who thinks MY hair MUST be short. So far she hasn't done anything crazy, so I'l let it grow and then I'll get Sokka's hairstyle from Avatar: The Last Airbender (suck it Cameron), whatever it's called.

I haven't gone to cut my hair in nearly 2 years now, and I don't regret it in the slightest - I've grown attached (hehe) to my ponytail.

I've not been for a haircut in over ten years now ^_^ last one I had was my bro shaving it all off when I was fourteen. Now I have the Master Mane! It grants me strength, which is much appreciated considering I'm basically a scarecrow.

Thar be me:

Albeit a rather old pic now...

*EDIT* Oddly enough drinking a bottle of Scarecrow... Weird.

I hate getting my hair cut, but I also hate having to put any effort whatsoever into make my hair not look terrible. It's a lose lose situation.

Not to mention how annoying long hair gets.

Oh baby! It makes total sense though: your running a vibrating machine over sensitive nerve endings in a very common erogenous zone. It's probably the main reason we don't see the a line bob going away; that and it looks good with almost every face.

Lol. There are more than you think. I'm not sure who that stereotype is more annoying for, white collar gay guys or straight male hairdressers.
