I don't think you can switch shoulders besides for using the clunky as hell cover system.
Middle mouse while aiming. I stumbled upon that gem by pure chance on a loading screen, otherwise I still wouldn't know how to do that, since there's no indication in the key mapping that it is doable and it is not spelled out on the lower left like every other weapon related action.
You can't with on PS4 with a controller. The previous Ghost Recon was much more mechanically sound and allowed the player more actions, it doesn't make sense why they'd go way backwards with the new game.
Its right bumper on xbox. So that's what, R1 on PS4?

So far this has been an excellent thread of people complaining about things which are wrong.

Something something, look to be disappointed, and you wont find it hard, something something.

Played it for a while and it's a no-buy for me. Dialougs, character control, physics, vehicles handling (and collision detection), shooting - all that feels very bad.
its not a ghost recon game. its not even a tactical shooter they market as. they turn it into far cry in third person with gears of war wall cover.

R1 is to bring up the squad commands.

So every single complaint is wrong? The previous Ghost Recon controlled so much better (I literally still play it to this day) and Wildlands allows the player less actions with worse controls. How's that make sense? Where's the roll? Where's the cover swap? Why can't X (A on Xbox) be the sprint button since it does fuck all beside jump over stuff? Then L3 can be shoulder swap as it's literally the perfect button for shoulder swapping and the worst button for sprinting. If you last fired your gun in ADS, next time you go to aim it'll aim in ADS instead of OTS even though I have it set to default to OTS. And, oh god, that cover system is garbage. The control scheme is horribly designed, wasted buttons and all.

That's not even mentioning everything else wrong with the game like how empty and big the map is and how bad vehicles control. In previous GRs, you'd rescue the HVT and a helicopter would show up to pick you up, you'd get in and take off with a bit of dialogue and then it would transition to your destination with a short cutscene and all. But in Wildlands, you have to get in the helicopter and pilot it with shit controls to your destination to trigger the cutscene. How does that make the game better? It's like a movie and watching an entire character's commute to work instead of just transition to him getting to work. What does it add to the game making me constantly travel to get to the actual content? Ghost Recon like many games did not at all need to be open world. Where's the PvP?

Wildlands is so bad that I'm betting it actually scores under an 80, which is almost impossible for a "AAA" game.

Then its definitely R1, because it works the same on Xbox. Holding R1 brings up squad commands, yes. Tapping R1 changes shoulders.

I said it as a general thing. Since we've had statements about it just being division in the jungle, when they couldn't be more separate experiences. The whole beta not working, when other than announced downtime, its had no connectivity issues. You talking about controls that don't exist when...they do. I'll ignore B-Cell's wrong comments because him being right about something might break the internet.

So yeah, my talking about wrong complaints entails that. The discussion about how people find the controls schemes, gameplay etc is entirely subjective and I don't consider complaints. I consider it feedback and opinions. My being amused at wrong statements only entailed things which were plain incorrect.

As someone's who clocked over a hundred hours in the Division, I do think this statement has some merits. If you go at it alone the two experiences are pretty similar in terms of gameplay loop (kill random mobs, find collectibles, go to mission, do mission, search for upgrade materials etc.). They differ significantly in how they approach mission structure however, where the Division is very rigid and linear in its' mission structure, Wildlands is entirely open-ended and the missions and outpost attacks plays way more like Far Cry. As a fan of both series I find it rather addictive.

Having found a second sniper rifle, I've also managed to put my concern of excessive bullet drop to rest. The M40 has some very noticeable drop past 150m or so, but the MSR has a much flatter trajectory (and faster bullet travel time). The touch that bullets fired by suppressed weapons travel slower then non-suppressed shots is also a nice touch in terms of gameplay, as it means you actually benefit from removing suppressors, especially on sniper rifles and assault rifles where you regularly engage at some distance.

All in all, my opinion of Wildlands keeps improving the more I play it.

Is anybody planning on trying it out? And on what platform? Any preconceptions on what quality the final product and experience will be? How easily do you ignore pre-order bonuses?
I downloaded it for PC. I did not note a performance problem. As others have noted, the vehicles could drive better. I need easy and what I played was not only easy, my side kicks did their share of the shooting. I didn't get killed in the mission I played and enjoyed the mission enough to want to try more. That is when you know you have a good demo.

Graphics? I'm using an HD7970 which runs just about any 1080P game at almost max settings. My rig should not be the graphics bottleneck. I keep in mind this is a beta and will watch to see if the finished product is more polished, but what I saw looked almost PS3 gen graphics with shiney, mannequin character models. Being a graphics whore of the 1st order, I won't be pre-ordering this but will definitely keep it in mind with an eye on getting it particularly if there is improvement in this area.

After spending 6+ hours playing mostly CooP and tweaking some options, I have to admit that I was wrong. This games is actually fun when played with friends. There is some annyoing stuff in it - like enemies spawning on your head, stupid friendly AI, dialougs between characters (maybe those can be turned off. I didn't check) and almost cartoony vehicle controls, but there's soo much joy after perfect and silent mission execution, that it overweights all the bad stuff. It's also a very beautifully looking game if you consider the scale of it.
