Gifts you weren't too fond of.

Now this isn't just X-mas, but also Birthdays, Anniversaries etc. Have you ever had that moment where you've just opened a gift, attempted to keep a smile on your face but in your mind look at it and think: "I don't like this"

For example. Since I was doing Cert3 IT at collage, my relatives on a small island close by decided to send me... a "Norfolk Island Mouse Pad". Yeah, I work on computers but a mouse pad? I'd have been just happy with a card saying merry x-mas so it at least had meaning. Now in no way am I being a bah-humbug but have you ever had that gift where your just..."iffy" over it?

My last Birthday, my brother just got me a mini handheld fan that can also spray water...

He was 18 a the time he got me it, and it was winter, i was like "Gee, thanks" then threw it in the bin.

My sister got me a 6 magnet set of "Cat Butts". It came with a 32-page field guide for identifying different breeds by simply glancing at their anuses. I laughed, although I was dying inside.

Guess I should have re-worded it bit better. More of, they didn't make the effort, not for material, but to know the actual person. Its like giving a guy a dress (not a kilt), unless he likes dresses, they didn't really think through enough. if you see what I mean?

I loved the fact that my father knew me enough to buy me a book but was dissapointed with the Eragon element of things. It isn't bad, exactly, it's just not a book I would have wanted, heh.

I actually thought about that. But they don't sell crates. So it would just end up being like 5 single Redbulls.

I'll probably end up buying a pack of squares or something stupid like that.

It's the thought that counts, So I do expect people who have known me for years to not just hand over a tenner with an apology, before it's even christmas. Probably the only time i've been disappointed IMO.

On the flipside.. LOADS of irn-bru is fine for me.

well my grandma ALWAYS gets me clothes for x-mas but the clothes are really well plain ugly then she wants me to put them on so she can take pics or she gets me some hair crap that i dont need i really hate it
