and women are, well, I don't know how to finish that sentence without sounding incredibly sexist, so I wont.
Nurturing caring and loving. Seriously, isn't that why the Sims is so popular. So the girls can make their fantasy family and life and play with their lives to their hearts content? Whereas most guys with the sims i know get on, make a retarded freak and spend a few minutes torturing it till it dies than leaves to play something with more blood.

Wow, that sounds incredibly sexist....

I'm a girl and i agree with you a hundred percent. The Sims is just the same aspect as playing Barbie Dolls really isnt it? You pretend you're grown up and you have a family. I dont think thats sexist at all, its quite accurate really. I dont understand why girls simply say no to playing games without giving it a try at least. I love all kinds of games, from final fanstasy to gears of war to guitar hero. I guess its all about stereotypes, i couldnt even tell you the amount of times i've been called a " nerd " from girls who have tiny little dogs and wear more make up than Cher..

Both my sisters play games, and many of my female friends play games; but then again, I come from a strange family and make strange friends. I don't find it all that unusual though when I meet a girl who's a fan of gaming.

shadowstar told me to do it!

Gentler? GENTLER?! The females I hang out with are more violent and masculine than me!

And I think it really is just a case of, what you're brought up with, I know plenty of girl gamers, dated one. It isn't uncommon, I think it might just be a case of girls not playing the same type of games, so guy gamers don't see them that much.

Not trying to be sexist or anything, but I'm pretty sure I can count the girl gamers that I've met on one hand. I find it kind of odd to be honest.
