i heard this one song "girlfriend in a coma" by the smiths and i got to thinking about it. what if i was in a situation like that? i mean if i go and look for a new relationship, and she wakes up, i'm going to look like the biggest ass in the world. on the other hand i can wait around for her to wake up, and could be waiting forever which would suck.

so escapist, what would you do if your girlfriend (or boyfriend) was put in a persistent vegetative state?

Actually, if I remember correctly, his girlfriend dumped him while she was still in the coma, so no help there I suppose.

I'd wait around asking the doctors on her condition bi-hourly i'd put flower in the room spray perfume and what not. I'd also have classical music playing because i would know she likes that sort of music.

Depends, if I was close to him or not. If I was close I would be extremely devoted and wait for a long time. If he was just a guy who asked me out recently or we had been dating for a week or something I might be supportive for up to a month but then I wud move on.

After everyone leaves, wishing me their condolences, I lock the door behind them, cackle madly, and climb on top of his comatose body. Leaning forward, close to his face, I'll tell him, "You're not getting away from me that easily!"

You do realize that his body would be completely unresponsive in a comatose state? Good luck with all that.

OT: If my girlfriend were in a comatose state, I would wait. Eventually, it would be time to move on, but I would hold out as long as I can. In some cases of a long time, one cannot be blamed for moving on: Castaway comes to mind.
