He-he. Futurama references.

Anyway, it would depend on how long I had been in the relationship.

A couple of months, i'd wait a while, than move on.

A couple of YEARS, I would wait all day, everyday.

i heard this one song "girlfriend in a coma" by the smiths and i got to thinking about it. what if i was in a situation like that? i mean if i go and look for a new relationship, and she wakes up, i'm going to look like the biggest ass in the world. on the other hand i can wait around for her to wake up, and could be waiting forever which would suck.

so escapist, what would you do if your girlfriend (or boyfriend) was put in a persistent vegetative state?
"forgive and move on"

she'll surely understand. or think of what she would have done if you were in that state.

WWNED? What would Nathan Explosion do? He was in this situation once.

Actually, if I remember correctly, his girlfriend dumped him while she was still in the coma, so no help there I suppose.

I'd give it a month then I'd move on. Damn that'd suck so bad.

I'd wait around asking the doctors on her condition bi-hourly i'd put flower in the room spray perfume and what not. I'd also have classical music playing because i would know she likes that sort of music.
Considering I just read a touching commitment to one's love in a deep emotional sense, I have to wonder why the hell do you have that profile picture?

I'd stick with her- I'm not in it for sex, I just want to be with her. If she ended up dying, I have no idea what I'd do... Probably become a misanthropic asshole who never goes outside and plays video games compulsively, even though he has a test in two days.
EDIT: Christ, I edit these things a lot.

I'd stick with her regardless of my age or how long we were going out. I'm just that kind of guy I guess.

Depends, if I was close to him or not. If I was close I would be extremely devoted and wait for a long time. If he was just a guy who asked me out recently or we had been dating for a week or something I might be supportive for up to a month but then I wud move on.

Mr. Grey's Five Step Plan to This Particular Situation:

1. I ask the nurse where the plug is.
2. I ask the doctor to confirm the location of the plug.
3. I consider the ramifications of pulling the plug.
4. I go to the cafeteria for the delicious jello.
5. I sit by her bedside holding her hand till I'm asked to leave.

Its not really black and white, If i loved the girl i'd stick by her til the end.

If not, i'd still try my hardest.

I'd wait a year. I'd stay by his side all the time and talk to him and play his favourite music and just hold him.
I don't want to think about being without him =(

the time I would wait for her before moving on would increase exponentially with the amount of time we had been together prior to the coma

then I would move on

I'd visit him everyday, grief clear on my face. I'd get in the habit of asking for privacy; to be alone with him for an hour without nurses or visitors. After everyone leaves, wishing me their condolences, I lock the door behind them, cackle madly, and climb on top of his comatose body. Leaning forward, close to his face, I'll tell him, "You're not getting away from me that easily!"

[insert description of woman taking advantage of her comatose boyfriend here]

...and that is what I'd do if he was in a vegetative state.
You do realize that his body would be completely unresponsive in a comatose state? Good luck with all that. :p

OT: If my girlfriend were in a comatose state, I would wait. Eventually, it would be time to move on, but I would hold out as long as I can. In some cases of a long time, one cannot be blamed for moving on: Castaway comes to mind.
