I think it's more of a "bonus" thing, depending on how important gaming is to someone off course... But it really shouldn't be a "deal breaker" imo. But then again, it really shouldn't come down to friction between the couple either.piers789 said:None of my girlfriends have been into gaming much, but its never bothered me too much as I don't play all that often anyway. I can see a plus side to having a girlfriend who plays games - in fact there would be a lot of pluses - but it shouldn't be necessity to make a relationship work. If it is/would be a necessity then you would need to ask yourself some serious questions.

Yeah, my last girlfriend really hadn't a clue about games and gaming etc., but at the same time we made it work and had a lot of fun talking about it - it was a jovial topic for us - and a great conversation starter.Caliostro said:I think it's more of a "bonus" thing, depending on how important gaming is to someone off course... Personally I find it adorable that my gf doesn't know games that well, but I do like to play some with her just for giggles and to talk about with.

Well It may have just been the girl I dated but it just got really anoying all she wanted to do was game together and then she turned out to be a complete *****...I personaly would rather have a GF that would like to go out or watch a movie or something. My friend also had a gaming GF which ended badly because she would get so mad if he beat her in games and such...kinda like she expected him to let her win...I dont know depends on the person I guess.Halfbreed13 said:How so?DarkSplinter82 said:Its not as good as you think it would beHalfbreed13 said:While I never had a gaming GF, I am sure I side with most guys thinking it would be fucking awesome to have one.![]()
Sounds like your boyfriend is a lucky fellow.purplegothchick said:I am a gaming girlfriend and my boyfriend seems to love that. Hell, it's the basis of our whole relationship! In the early days, we'd play Halo together and as it's progressed we both acquired 360s and now we set them up in the same room and play Saints Row 2 on co-op as well as GOW and L4D.
My ex wasn't into games though and now that I'm so heavily into it, I just can't imagine being with someone who doesn't like games. It goes both ways: although men are more likely to be gamers, it can be a pain in the butt if your partner doesn't game and you do, whether you're male or female, because they're likely to just see it as a waste of time.
