I was reading a review of Dragon Age 2 (the game i was looking forward to most ala 2011) on Rock, Paper, Shotgun
//www.rockpapershotgun.com/2011/03/14/wit-the-opening-hours-of-dragon-age-ii/) the other day and i came upon a review that once again noted they didn't care for the npc's they were given as family, or even themselves.
I was a bit taken aback as I even cared for the whiney templar inflicted with the Blight.
I was thinking it over for a couple of days till I realised the reviewers big mistake. With other games you care for the characters simply because you either created them (see sim's) or you don't give a crap (most modern triple AAA shooters), unlike RPG's your not required to give of yourself and make an effort to connect with the person your damn well being!
I'd love to hear everyone's thoughts on this and whether or not i'm just being super sensitive
