Hmmm...
Robotech: Battlecry.
Well, if you count Rick and Minmei...
Yeah, I have no real knowledge of romance in games...

EDIT:

DO IT! Why should I? what a stupid way to end a post
Why did you even bother posting in this thread then?
Some people have meaningful stuff to contribute.
I posted to tell this guy to get some manners. Maybe he put it as a joke, but it seems like a bad joke to me.

The topic itself is fine. But now I won't answer his question on principle.

Dragon age? Mass effect?

Probably every Bioware game that I haven't played?
I don't think saying "What do you know about the Geth?" qualifies as romantic conversation. It seems to pass in Mass Effect that if you're asking them "what they thought of the last mission?" you're courting them in some way. Believe me when I say it doesn't work in practice. I went to a party one time and decided to take the Commander Shepard way of flirting. Most of the women I talked to got very confused and left... I guess they didn't think too much of our last mission.

I was thinking of Lost Planet, except that never really gets any closure. Hopefully if they make a sequel (which I hope they do) then the romantic subplot will be resolved nicely.
They are making a squel to Lost Planet, it's coming out this year. It dosn't look like we're going to see Wayne & Co. in it tho.

OT; , I don't think there has been a sigle good romace story in a video game, to my knowlege, and I don't thinkwe're getting one anytime soon.

Couldn't you have at least phrased it differently?
That way it doesn't make one look so insulting for posting so little.
And OK, if you won't contribute to him, why don't you tell this one of a game with romance in the story?

You guys talk about this game so much I am ashamed that I never played it. I will have to pick it up.

Is that from the game "Ico"? Is that made by the same people who did Shadow of the Colossus?
Well lucky for you(and me) they are rereleasing this game in a short while. Also they are made by the same people.

OT: I can not think of any games myself that have not been mentioned, but then again i just recently started to enjoy these sorts of things but only in anime so far.

I don't know, something about the Bioware love stories just don't do it for me. They seem like they are more like sidequests, not really having anything to do with the story.
I would actually agree with you in most BioWare games. Even as a fanboy, I think most of their romantic subplots are gratuitous. But I would say that KotOR's romance between Revan and Bastila is one of the all-time greats of gaming. It ties in very well with the game's finale.

Baldur's Gate 2.
Mass Effect was ok, but not great.
Dragon Age was slightly better, but not great either.

Really, Baldur's Gate was the best I've seen so far, just because it took so long. It never felt like a rushed romance thing. It was over a long period of dungeon crawling and chapter after chapter. THEN you got romantic. Awesome.

PoP: The Sands of Time, you bloody heretics!
That's what I was gonna say (well, minus the heretics part). It was nice to see a romance that's not nauseating but really fun (and funny) to watch develop.

Dawn of War

the intense, Brokeback-mountain-esque relationship between Lord Bale and Sindri was jaw-dropping in its subtlety and execution

You can just FEEL the vibes coming off both of them. They love each other, but their jobs put them at ends, they hate each other as people and it is forbidden in the eyes of the Chaos Gods

That look Sindri gave Bale after he betrayed him was...so...heartbreaking...it tore him apart, and I cried for hours over the tragedy of love lost

You have a point. I could have explained myself more for sure.

I would be happy to share a game that I thought had a good love story GTA. I made up my own love story with the girls I dated and tried to be a perfect genetleman with them. It helped make the game more fun for me

I wouldn't say Dragon quest 8 was much of a love story but the kings reaction at the magic spring was a touching moment of a father's love.

They have to have been in your party for a while. Other people's parties don't work.

Oh, that was a pain. Well...
San Andreas was a pain because they were always so far away or hard to find, and there was no real point in searching for them.
GTA IV was a pain because they always have to phone up at a bad time.
I only had a girlfriend on there for the mission, then I gave up after that :|

I don't know if MGS has a decent love story..
I seem to remember something about Otacon asking Snake whether "love can bloom on the battlefield." I think there was a small glimpse of a love story between Otacon and Snake SniperWolf.

Although an internet video game forum would be the only place I would ever admit this, I'm a romantic at heart. But only with my video games.

Tell me some games that you think have a decent love story. I'm thinking along the lines of:
Uncharted series
FFVIII
MGS
etc.

Do it!
FABLE 2!

Oh wait...... That STARTED romantic but just turned into a massive orgy with everyone within a 19-mile radius.
