I've got bored of all the films I watched repeatedly, so does The Escapist have any good films for me to watch, I watch all genres so just name some decent films. To be more specific I really like my horrors and my comedies, Thanks.

It would help if we knew what kind of films you enjoyed..

Though my personal favorite

It's technically a romantic-comedy, but don't let that scare you away. It has all the quirk and appeal of an indie film, before any romance.

EDIT:

Horror? Try the original PULSE (Kairo). It's genuinely scary, and kept me off the internet for months. Not the American one though. That's just laughable.

Dark knight is amazing, I've never got round to watch any of the Matrix so I might give them a go, but yeah Im into horrors and comedies if that helps.

I watched a french zombie film called La Horde last night, and I thought it was quite good, recommended if you're into zombies at all.

Splinter is also a very good horror movie, low enough budget but the effects and gore are done really well.

In Bruges. I watched it again yesterday and was reminded how fucking amazing it is. The script is great, the plot is great, the music is great, the directing is great and it's funny... so what is it you ask? Great.

It's horror, it's action, it's psychological, and it has Morgan Freeman in it. Best movie ever?

I always thought I was the only person to have seen this movie. It really is just wonderful.

I haven't met many people who have seen it either, even my Film Studies teacher had not watched it until I recommended it and he thinks it's awesome too.

OT: I'm gonna recommend Crank 1 and 2 as well. They're retarded, over the top action comedies. I love how they don't take themselves seriously, and Statham just plays himself which is class.

It sounds like your taste in horror is quite contemporary, here are a few horror films in light of this you might like:

'Cube' (Natali 1997). I've heard a couple of people compare it to the first Saw film, sighting it as a predecessor.

'Hard Candy' (Slade 2005). Plays with gender roles within the narrative of a sexual predator type film.

'Switchblade Romance' (aka High Tension) (Aja 2003). Very effective French house in the woods slasher/thriller film.

While a bit older 'Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer' (McNaughton 1986) is in my opinion one of the most unnerving and effective horror films I have ever seen, and certianly the best horror film from a director I hadn't heard of.

My three favourite films which I recommend to anyone are:

'Abigails Party' (Leigh 1977). Brilliant satire of upward mobility, conspicous consumption and class conciousness in 70's Britain.

'Scorpio Rising' (Anger 1964). Often overlooked American classic experimental film. Brilliant use of pop cultural imagery reappropriatting the sacred and profane creating new meanings.

'Stranger than Paradise' (Jarmusch 1984). Jarmusch's first 'proper' feature is one of the most important and intereting films to come out of 80's American independent cinema. Incredily deadpan, witty and critical in its observations it foregrounded a lot of the themes of his later work in terms of attitudes to American culture and life.
