I know it didn't get the best reception but I loved Flash Forward, and I loved the ending to the first season, the music and the montage, was hauntingly beautiful... but it was clear they had more in mind and the plug got pulled so late they could never get it finished in one season and wouldnt get any more and that made me sad

Afterworld. Such a great build-up, so many great theories and complications...then, suddenly, it ended. Nobody wanted to pay for it anymore, it seems.

Deadwood and Carnivale. Fuck that episodic shit, these titans of story never got the conclusion both were working towards. These shows had an end in sight, but they got cancelled before their final seasons were made.

Never watched Deadwood (Not really into anything set in the old west), but Carnivale is the first that comes to mind for me too. That ending was a real punch in the balls. Twin Peaks is similar and I don not for the life of me understand people that tell me it´s a proper ending. There´s way too much stuff left hanging in the air. Also, there´s Firefly (of course), Legend Of The Seeker, Heroes, etc...
Way too many shows get cancelled prematurely these days. If they pull that shit with Game Of Thrones I´ll be royally pissed. I want a nice and clean Six Feet Under ending.

I watched it when I was about 12 on the UK's Nickelodeon, and I loved it! Freaked me the hell out! Cute and Disgusting at the same time.

It got cancelled mid way through its third season because it was too expensive and apparantly not enough people watched it. It ended on a Christmas episode for crying out loud.

There's been loads of fan attempts to bring it back and there's even a yearly convention called invadercon (http://www.invadercon.com/) Where they've managed to have some writers and all of the voice cast attend and talk about their experiences with the show.

Unfortunately, the creator himself, Jhonen Vasquez, doesn't seem interested.

Throwing out something no one's said: Star Trek Voyager. What really annoyed me about the two part ending:

1) We finally INTRODUCE the relationship between 7 of 9 and Chakotay. And the very f*cking end? REALLY?

2) B'lanna gives birth as they reach Earth, so the whole time they've been calling Naomi Wildman "the FIRST child born on Voyager" falls really flat, because the only OTHER one is at the end.

3) The switched the actress for the Borg Queen back to Alice Krieg, f*cking over the woman who'd been doing it on the show. Silly gripe, maybe, but it bugged me.

4) Messing with time travel. Again. Seriously, I've only watched Voyager to completion, and now I'm working on Enterprise. Otherwise, very little Trek experience. Someone please tell me that time travel is not so important in the other series. (Side note, boyfriend says we will NOT be watching Deep Space 9 because he has no desire to watch a Soap Opera in space.)

I really like this series, but the ending just felt like it opened more doors than it closed. I was genuinely upset it was over.

Two other issues I have with the show, because it was never resolve, though, are:

1) WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO THE BABY BORG WHEN THEY RESCUED ICHEB AND THE OTHER BORG CHILDREN?!

2) Why can't the copy the Doctor? He's a file, isn't he?

Deadwood. Firefly had the film. Arrested Development ended just in time, quality was already slipping. Deadwood was in its prime, and it just...ended...without any finished character arcs or any long running story lines resolved.

For Game of Thrones to get a proper ending, Martin has to actually budge off his fat ass and finish the series, and I don't see that happening any time soon.

Six Feet Under is still the best series ending of all time for fans of closure. It gives you too MUCH goddam closure, is what it gives you.

Invader Zim. It just kind of... Ended. That's it? The Valentine's day Platypus? If I could go back, I'd end it with Zim winning. Dib goes to wake up the sleeping masses, but fails, and humanity is destroyed, with him being the only survivor. Zim, sick green thing that he is, finds Dib, but leaves him alive, drifting dead in space forever. Silence for the rest of his miserable human life, forever haunted by the fact that he lost.

I watched the DVD writers extras, they talk about where the show would have gone.

They were going to do a couple more episodes, such as the return of Tak (I love her) and hoped to finish with a TV movie were it turned out *SPOILERS TO A NON-EXISTING STORY* That Dib is some sort of scientific creation/experiment by his father. I don't know what Zim had to do with that plot, but hey

The tone got a lot more serious and cases were solved using less and less "micro expressions," that the show was starting to dwindle down to more of a crime solvers show with people who can tell apart the lies from the truths.

It sucked that the series was canceled because they had a lot of great episodes and they were really geared towards character development in the third season. I would have like for this show to continue on for many years.

I think that a "fitting" ending to this series would have been that Lightman dies (somehow, solving a case), Foster would leave or take over the firm, Torres would replace Foster, Eli would start his own "Lightman Group," and Emily (Lightman's daughter) would be teaching and advancing the field of micro expressions.

4 votes. It's because the fans / haters demanded proof that the writers weren't just making everything up as they were going along.

Personally, when I found out about the smoke monster, I was blown away. It explained so much, and I love it when an overcomplicated plan comes together, good or evil.
